Imo Set to become Nigeria's Digital Powerhouse

 


~ As Commissioner for  Digital Economy and E-governance, Unveils Imo digital plan of the Imo state Government


The Hon. Commissioner for Digital economy and e governance, Dr Chimezie Amadi has unveiled the Imo digital master plan. He unveiled this during the official flag off of the maiden edition of IMO STATE CYBER SECURITY Awareness seminar. The commissioner who  expressed his excitement and readiness  to work with young people and  communities whom he said were already doing great around the digital sector in the state, said that the Imo government and the state governor have been bitten by a digital bug, hence his decision to digitalize Imo State and provide all the necessary support and resources required to achieve a Digital Imo. 


The Hon Commisioner however assured the Ecosystem/ Hub leaders of his commitment to bring his wealth of knowledge, experience and network to ensure that Imo youths are upskilled and connected to global opportunities. He also promised to use government and other platforms and partnerships to market talents from the Imo Ecosystem.


He used the opportunity to invite Imo youths to participate in the training program, commemorating the Cyber Security week, which is in partnership with Cisco, which started on the 14 October, 2022 at Imo Technology and Innovation Center (ITIC),  along egbu road, before Owerri Mall. The training will commence on the 17th of October 2022 at ITIC. Registration is free. Those interested should visit www imostate.gov.ng to register. 

Imo State Govt is committed to partnering with other stakeholders to ensure that Nigerian internet and cyberspace is safe for Imolites to carry out their business without falling into antics of cyber criminals. As part of activities lined up to mark the 2022 Cyber Security Awareness Week. Imo State Government through the ministry of Imo is embarking on the program to educate on cyber security tips though out the month of October, and free online cyber training for Imolites. At the end of training they would be rewarded with Cissco Digital Badge, Prospective learners can access our training via the website. 


The commissioner further reassured Imolites of Governor Hope Uzodimma's firm commitment and resolve to ensure healthy cyber environment and safe use of the internet in achieving shared prosperity in Imo State. 

Also present at the meeting is the Special Adviser to the Imo state governor on Public Enlightenment, Prince Eze Ugochukwu who expressed readiness to work with the Imo Ecosystem/ hub leaders to ensure seamless information dissemination and interaction with the government. The Executive Director of ITIC Mr. Godwin Chike Ebere, SA To Governor on Youth Affairs, Hon Eric Uwakwe, Commissioner for Transport Hon Barr Rex Onyenobi (Sokom) Hon. Chief Tanana Biaduo, special Adviser on Urban Water Supply were also present at the event.

Tension In Uruagu Nnewi As Community Leaders Dare Soludo,Defy Court Order

The President of Uruagu-Nnewi Development Union, Chief Sunday Okoli aka Organizer, and the Obi of Uruagu-Nnewi community in Nnewi North local government area of Anambra State, His Majesty Afamefuna Charles Obi, have swept Soludo's directive to the gutters, by reason of their suspension and subsequent dessolution of the leadership of the community's youth forum, led by Ejike Ifejiofor, and subsequent appointment of caretaker executive to pilot the affairs of youths in the community.
