PDP'S DEMAND FOR STATE OF EMERGENCY IN IMO, MOST UNPATRIOTIC, UNDEMOCRATIC AND DEVILISH

... CALL FOR DISBANDMENT OF EBUBEAGU SECURITY OUTFIT, DIVERSIONARY, IRRESPONSIBLE AND ILLOGICAL

The All Progressive Congress in Imo has frowned at PDP's call for a state of emergency in Imo state as unpatriotic, and the disbanding of Ebube Agu Security outfit as irresponsible. The All Progressive Congress in a press release made available to this newspaper on Friday (yesterday) stated that it's attention has been drawn to a press statement credited to the wobbling, disoriented and unstable opposition People's Democratic Party, PDP,  in the state, calling for the declaration of A state of emergency in Imo and immediate disbandment of the EBUBEAGU SECURITY OUTFIT, following the unfortunate and regrettable incident that took place at the residence of the PDP House of Representatives candidate for Ideato North/ Ideato South Federal Constituency, Mr. Ugo Ugochinyere.

The party in its press conference under reference,  as usual,  made other irresponsible, careless and thoughtless demands to wit: withdrawal of all Security Personnel attached to Nze Chinasa Nwaneri; and protection of all its candidates among others.

The APC through it's press release said that ordinarily, they would have not bothered to join issues with an obviously displaced party like PDP, which has not hidden its desperate determination to discredit and undermine the APC-led administration of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma.

"We are not unmindful of the fact that the leadership of the Chief Emeka Ihedioha's led faction of the opposition PDP has done everything within its disposition to fulfill their threat of making Imo ungovernable for governor Uzodimma."

"We are however, alarmed at the sudden volte-face by the opposition PDP to condemn the Akokwa incident! One now wonders what has changed?"

"In as much as we condemn in its entirety such unconscionable, despicable and heinous act that took place at the country home of the candidate of PDP for Ideato North and Ideato South Federal Constituency, Mr. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, like we have consistently done in the past, it must be noted that Imo PDP is not worthy and deserving of any sympathy and solidarity!"

"It is on record, that the opposition PDP has not hidden its sympathy and support for non state actors. Consequently, they have used every available media platform to criticize, condemn and discredit the combined efforts of the state government and security agencies in the fight against insecurity. As if that is not enough, PDP as a major opposition party and prominent stakeholder in the Imo project has not for once condemned the activities of these misguided urchins masquerading under the garb of (un)known gunmen, an indication that they are working in concert with them."

"Against this background, the PDP and its disgruntled leaders should hold themselves individually and collectively responsible for the current security challenges in the state. What is happening today is the manifestation of PDP's desperation to frustrate, de - market and blackmail the APC- led administration in the state."

The release said that to further buttress the foregoing, the obviously drowning PDP curiously called for the withdrawal of the security details of Governor Uzodimma's aide while maintaining that its candidate's should be fortified with security personnel. This the APC said is not only shameless and an oddity, it dramatizes the extent the now shattered and worn-out umbrella party decoyed in morality and even simple constitutional values.

The ruling party said, that calling for a state of emergency in Imo State clearly shows PDP's unpatriotic and anti - people posture  while  portraying it as a bunch of misguided mischief makers masquerading as democrats.

"It is now obvious that the Imo PDP has yet to understand the rudiments and basics of democratic engagements and learnings. The ill conceived attempt by PDP to invoke the declaration of a state of emergency in the state has confirmed the fears in many quarters that the party stuffers from lack of democratic tact and it attendant processes, proceeding, and procedures."

"It is no longer in doubt that, most members of Imo State PDP have not completely extricate themselves, and indeed eschew all forms of undemocratic and dangerous strategies copied during the locust years of military dictatorship. This is undoubtedly regrettable."

The APC in Imo, therefore called on all  good people of Imo state and well meaning members of the public, to completely disregard the PDP and remain focused and support the shared prosperity government of Governor Hope Uzodimma.
