ICAPS staff commend New SA, extoll his leadership qualities

 


The staff of Imo college of advanced professional studies (ICAPS) has extolled the leadership qualities of Hon. Pastor Chika Emedo for his forthrightness in handling the affairs of the government agency in less than two months of resuming duty as the Special Adviser to the governor of the agency. These remarks were made by the staff of the agency after an interactive session with SA and the workers. 


Speaking at the interactive session, the SA to the governor on ICAPS Hon. Pastor Chika Emedo, thanked the staff for their cooperation in the revitalization of the agency, which will be to their common good and that of Ndi Imo in general. He however stressed that the agency as a finishing school has the potential of changing the fortunes of Imolites, because of its vantage position in driving technology innovations,not just in Imo but Nigeria as a whole. He gave instances that if the Imo power, humanitarian department, the Imo floor mills and the agro development departments are made to function adequately that knowledge which is power, will be transmitted to Ndi Imo in line with the 3R administration of governor Hope Uzodinma. 



In her speech, the administrative head of the establishment Ms Okwuegbulem Chinyere Felicia, thanked the SA for starting on a good note and prayed that he succeeds for the overall development of the agency. She said " since I started work here, i have not seen a proactive and innovative leader like our new SA. He has thus far shown that he means business and we promise to give him all the support needed for him to pilot the affairs of the agency to greater heights"


Adding his voice, the Head of Department of Imo Power Humanitarian department, Mr. Godson Ononogbo said that his department if funded adequately has the potential of getting revenue for government and therefore called on the SA to look into areas that will bring the agency, back to what it used to be. He said " The truth remains that the reason for Imo state's first position in major technology fairs in the country is because of the innovations of my department, I  therefore plead with the SA to advise the governor to place attention on ICAPS so that we can transfer this knowledge to the younger generation, who will no doubt take over from us." He said. 



Also, the Head of Department of Imo floor mills, Mrs Tessy stressed that her department has the capacity to process all types of food ranging from Cassava floor, plantain floor, cocoyam floor, all types of pastries and natural extracts from any type of food in commercial quantity if given the adequate support, and can as well train women and the youths in the current trends of food processing and innovations. She also asked the Special Adviser to inform the governor that ICAPS has the potentials of contributing it's quota to the overall development of Imo state under the 3R initiative of governor Hope Uzodinma. 


The SA, therefore called on the staff of the agency to take serious whatever that they are doing, to enable the agency stand up to its original design, which is to ensure that the brain behind setting up the agency is not defeated. He said that in no time that the agency will showcase it's potentials starting with the empowerment of the youths and women to showcase the 3R initiative of governor Hope Uzodinma.
