Folks , the news of the selfless decision made by the Distinguished Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District to join the President Ahmed Bola Tinubu GCFR led ruling party ,the APC has continued to top charts in trending discussions all over the Southeast region.
Those that understand the need for Ndi Igbo to re evaluate their poliitcal prospects in the present dispensation after former president Buhari's exit from power are all filled with joy at this piece of news for indeed they know that Southeast morning in the race for redemption has finally come.
A clear illustration of the level of disjointedness that Southeast regional politics represents today can be found in the fact that the five states have four political parties at the helm of its affairs. While Imo and Ebonyi are both APC states , Enugu is a PDP state, Anambra, with an Apga Governor, while Abia has a labour party man at the helm of its affairs.
The good news is that the current political players in the Southeast region are beginning to see the light and the need to reposition the region once again.
It was a matter of fact that the Southeast region fared far better when they all were connected to the then ruling party at the Centre, the People's Democratic Party (PDP), and worked with greater unity of purpose and oneness.
Today, there are presently well-grounded rumours of possible defection to the APC by both Governors of Enugu and Abia States.
As we are faced with the APC landscape in the southeast of Nigeria,4, particularly in light of Sen. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah's defection to the party, It is crucial that we, as a people, highlight the value of diverse perspectives and the potential for positive change through collaboration as we encourage open discussions
Senator Ubah's efforts to address regional concerns is a timely development that we must all embrace in order to drive the progress, security, and infrastructural development of the five Eastern states.
