Mama Alice Odo Bags Ezinne Title from Catholic Diocese of Nsukka

This year's mothering sunday celebration in the Catholic Diocese of Nsukka will be remembered in diverse forms especially for the family of Mrs Alice Odo of Nkporogwu Ukehe Igbo Etiti LGA of Enugu state, as she bagged the Ezinne title to the glory of God, at Saint Christopher’s Parrish, Ukehe. Mrs Alice Odo, is the mother of Rt Hon. Chidera Odo, Ezeomeogo 1, MD Colliery Guest House Enugu.

In the homily to celebrate the high mass for the day, Rev Fr Solomon Onuh who presided over the church service, said that a mother’s love is the fuel that enables a normal human being to do the impossible.” Continuing , he said that a mother’s love is patient and forgiving when all others are forsaking. It never fails or falters. He called on mother's all over the world to always look inwards and care for their children as they are the bedrock of civilization.

Ezinne Alice Odo, the celebrant while speaking to newsmen, thanked God for life and the joy of being honored with the Ezinne title. She said that motherhood comes with a lot of challenges, but in all, a virtues woman will always surmount all the hurdles of life, especially with regards to training the children. She thanked the Catholic Diocese of Nsukka for finding her worthy of the honor and also commended her home church, St Christopher's Parish, for nominating her for the award. She thanked her children , Mr. Ogbonna Odo, Rt Hon Chidera Odo, and his friends for making the event a memorable one.

The first son of the celebrant, Mr. Ogbonna Odo, said that their mother gave them not just education but all that made life easy for them. He commended the Catholic Diocese of Nsukka for honoring their mum and prayed that God bless their mum with good health and long life. He thanked friends and well wishers who joined them in honoring their mum for coming and prayed God to continue to keep and bless their mother.

While speaking with newsmen, son of the celebrant, Rt Hon Chidera Odo, thanked God for the life of his mother. He said " my mum has always been an inspiration to me. She has been the reason for my many achievements in life. She has indeed shown me what being a mother truly represents. I give it to her. The honor done to her today is deserving"

The event also saw the creme le creme of the society gather to celebrate with Mrs Alice Odo. They are the former SSG to former Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Prof Simon Ortuanya. The Deputy Speaker , Enugu State House of Assembly , Rt Hon Ezenta Ezeani. Ebeano Family group led by Dr Chika Friday Igwesi. Alhaji Friday Sani Nnaji. Hon Chinedu Eya, CEO Eya Homes and Investments, among other dignitaries.

BREAKING: 2Baba Shot Dead In Rivers State

A notorious cult leader and the prime suspect in the brutal murder of the late Divisional Police Officer, SP Bako Angbashim, in the state, Gift Okpara, popularly referred to as 2Baba, has been reportedly killed in a police-led major security raid. The police and other security agencies were said to have conducted land and aerial raids at the identical hideout of the Iceland cult leader and his gang at Idu-Ekpeye in Ahoada East local government area of Rivers on Saturday, February 17. According to The Nation , the Iceland cult leader was reportedly feared dead after the operation. Recall that in September 2023, the late DPO was ambushed and captured by the cult group led by 2Baba in the Odiemudie community, Ahoada East LGA. 2Baba and his gang then took the DPO to the forest, where they killed him and dismembered his body.
