UNIZIK Seeks Partnership with Journalists to Boost Academic Excellence

In a bid to enhance staff productivity and promote academic excellence, the Acting Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Professor Joseph Ikechebelu, has sought partnership with journalists. This move is aimed at fostering a collaborative relationship between the university and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Council.

During a courtesy call at his office, by members of the Re Elected Executive Council of NUJ in Anambra state led by Dr Emeka Odogwu, Ikechebelu emphasized the importance of a conducive environment for effective teaching and learning. He expressed optimism that the partnership would be beneficial to all parties involved, stating, "We need a media partnership to go higher. We want to have a productive staff, and happy productive students. When our staff are happy, and students are happy, they will be progressing."

The partnership is expected to involve training programs for both university staff and NUJ members, with a focus on enhancing academic activities over the next three years. Ikechebelu commended the re-elected Chairman of the NUJ, Anambra State Council, Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, on his achievements and urged him to continue his innovative strategies towards transforming the university.

This development is a significant step towards promoting academic excellence and productivity in the university. As Ikechebelu noted, "We have accepted to give NUJ a hand of fellowship to get done with whatever plans they have to boost our academic activities." With this partnership, UNIZIK is poised to take its academic pursuits to new heights.


Recall, that last week Friday, the NUJ, Anambra State Council, reelected Odogwu as Chairman and other new officers such as Comrade Beatrice Onuchukwu, Vice Chairman; Comrade Okechukwu Onuegbu (PhD), Secretary; Comrade Chinyere Ogbuagu, Assistant Secretary; Comrade Chibuzo Obidike, Treasurer; and Comrade Ogochukwu Onwukwe, Financial Secretary.
