Anambra Joint Security Team Boosts Patrols in Nnewi & Ihiala

The Anambra State Joint Security Team, comprising the police, army, navy, department of State Security, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), and Anambra State Vigilante, has intensified security patrols in Nnewi and Ihiala. This move the PPRO of the command SP Ikenga Tochukwu said aims to prevent any security breaches and ensure a safe environment for residents and businesses.

The Anambra state commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, however commended residents of Awka and Onitsha for their resilience in condemning acts that threaten national peace. He praised their efforts to improve economic activities, particularly on Mondays. 

The police-led joint security force is committed to maintaining law and order, ensuring public safety, and promoting economic growth. 


The patrol is intended to enhance security  and surveillance to deter criminal activities and build community trust within the state, as it's also a strategic deployment of personnel and resources to strategic locations to ensure effective security coverage in the state.

In recent months, the joint security team has made notable strides in enhancing security in Anambra State. Some key achievements include, arrests of notorious kidnapper Pablo Mamu was arrested. He said that improved community relations has helped security agencies  engage with residents, which has inturn built trust and cooperation.

To this end, the Anambra State Joint Security Team remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of residents and businesses. With continued efforts to enhance security measures and engage with the community, the team is working towards creating a secure environment for economic growth and development.

Tension In Uruagu Nnewi As Community Leaders Dare Soludo,Defy Court Order

The President of Uruagu-Nnewi Development Union, Chief Sunday Okoli aka Organizer, and the Obi of Uruagu-Nnewi community in Nnewi North local government area of Anambra State, His Majesty Afamefuna Charles Obi, have swept Soludo's directive to the gutters, by reason of their suspension and subsequent dessolution of the leadership of the community's youth forum, led by Ejike Ifejiofor, and subsequent appointment of caretaker executive to pilot the affairs of youths in the community.
