The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has launched a groundbreaking artificial intelligence (AI)-powered registration portal, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria's business facilitation drive. The new platform, unveiled at the 2025 Stakeholders Forum in Port Harcourt, promises to simplify and expedite business registration.
The upgraded portal boasts advanced features, including instant name reservation approvals and AI-powered suggestions for available business name alternatives. Users can now register businesses using only their National Identification Number (NIN), with the goal of completing registration and certificate generation within 30 minutes.
The CAC plans to introduce additional digital features, such as two-factor authentication and OTP verification, to enhance security and prevent unauthorized changes to company records. A mobile app is also slated for launch in the last quarter of 2025, allowing users to track progress and conduct transactions on-the-go.
The Commission is expanding its partnerships with private sector actors, reviewing over 100 Super Agent applications. The CAC will also implement a review of certain service fees effective August 1 to sustain quality service delivery and support ongoing digital transformation.
This innovative development is set to boost Nigeria's business environment, making it easier for entrepreneurs to register and operate their businesses.
