Zara Stores Opens in Onitsha - The Commercial Hub Centre

The bustling commercial city of Onitsha witnessed a remarkable milestone in retail growth and development as Zara Stores Limited 
officially opened its newest branch in the heart of the city. 

The grand opening ceremony, held on 9th Oct, at the ultra-modern store located No 76 Limca Rd Old Road Nkpor, drew a large crowd of dignitaries, business leaders, customers, Religious leaders and members of the media.

The event marked a significant step in Zara Stores’ expansion drive aimed at bringing quality products, affordable pricing, and an exceptional shopping experience to the people of Anambra State and the South-East region at large.

In his opening address, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zara Stores Limited, Chief Akai Egwuonwu expressed deep gratitude to God, the government of Anambra State, and the people of Onitsha for their warm support and hospitality.

“Today marks another important chapter in our journey to bring world-class retail service closer to our people. Zara Stores has always been driven by a vision to make quality products accessible and affordable, while creating opportunities for local employment and youth empowerment. Onitsha, being the commercial hub of Nigeria’s South-East, is the perfect home for this expansion.”

Chief Egwuonwu highlighted the store’s commitment to promoting Made-in-Nigeria goods alongside international brands, stressing that local partnership and community development remain core to Zara Stores’ business philosophy. “Beyond commerce, we are here to build relationships, to inspire entrepreneurship, and to contribute meaningfully to the economic growth of this great city. Legal practitioner from Abuja, Barr Chibuzo Ezegamba and Awka based Lawyer, Hon Barrister Ifeanyi Ezegamba, disclosed that today is a remarkable day in the annals of history, Zara Stores have opened another branch in Onitsha, Nkpor precise, i am grateful to God for this feat. Years back he opened the first branch at Awka and its striving, soonest another branch will open somewhere in Oba/Nnewi. This shows that our think home policy is working and Chief Akai Egwuonwu has keyed in this philosophy. This has also given room to improving the internally generated revenue, gross domestic product as well as employment opportunities among youths. So my prayers is that God will continue to bless and improve his business".
