NIPR Honours Anambra Police Spokesman Ikenga with Life Reputation Award

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has honoured the Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, with the prestigious Life Reputation Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to public communication and reputation management in public service.

The award was presented on March 13, 2026, during a colourful ceremony held at the International Conference Centre in Awka, the Anambra State capital.

The event attracted a distinguished gathering of political leaders, captains of industry, traditional rulers, media practitioners, and members of the public relations community.

Among the dignitaries present were Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo; the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe; renowned industrialist Chief Cletus Ibeto; and former Minister of Aviation, Chief Osita Chidoka, alongside top government officials and other notable personalities.
The Life Reputation Award is one of the recognitions conferred by the NIPR to celebrate individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to professionalism, integrity and excellence in public communication and reputation management.

In conferring the award on SP Ikenga, the institute commended his role in strengthening strategic communication within the Nigeria Police Force in Anambra State, particularly through effective information management, proactive media engagement and initiatives aimed at enhancing public trust in the police.

According to the institute, the police spokesman has distinguished himself through transparency, timely dissemination of information and sustained efforts to build constructive dialogue between the police and the public.

It noted that his approach to public communication has significantly improved public understanding of policing activities in the state while strengthening police-community relations.

The ceremony also provided an opportunity to celebrate individuals and institutions that have demonstrated ethical communication, positive reputation management and impactful leadership in their respective fields.

Dignitaries at the event commended the award recipients for their contributions to national development and urged them to sustain the values of professionalism, integrity and service to humanity.

Federal Polytechnic Oko Holds Two-Day Recruitment Interview to Address Staff Shortages

The Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, has begun a two-day interview exercise aimed at recruiting qualified personnel to fill vacant positions arising from staff retirements and other forms of exit from service. The exercise commenced on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. and is being overseen by the Rector, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, who personally announced the names of shortlisted candidates.
