23rd National Junior Engineers, Technicians & Scientists (JETS) Competition: Hon Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba Task Participants to improve on experience gained


The Minister of state for Education, Hon.  Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba(PhD) has tasked the participants of the just concluded, 23rd National Junior Engineers, Technicians & Scientists (JETS) Competition to improve on the experience they gained from the competition, which he said had the vision of developing talents throughout the country.


In his closing remarks, Hon Nwajiuba stated that " I have been fully briefed about the wonderful hospitality of the director/CEO and the entire staff of the center, right from the pre visit by the officials of the ministry to the centre up to this moment, I was not expecting anything less, we are all one in the federal ministry of education"



He however thanked all resource persons, coordinator, accompanying teachers and students from all the states and FCT for their untiring efforts towards making the competition a great success. He commended them for their forthrightness and hardwork, which he said will go a long way in advancing science, technology engineering and mathematics (STEM) education in Nigeria.


The Honorable minister therefore urged the participants to put to good use the experience gartherd towards ensuring that they expand the first of STEM, towards solving real life problems as most real time global players in technology today achieved their status through ingenuity and hardwork of scientists, engineers, technologists and mathematicians. 

The minister further stated that the ministry of education will continue to support and collaborate with relevant stakeholders in the promotion of STEM education for the advancement of the country and the well,being of Nigerians, while congratulating the winners in the competition and also encouraged those who did not win to try their best next time.

BREAKING: 2Baba Shot Dead In Rivers State

A notorious cult leader and the prime suspect in the brutal murder of the late Divisional Police Officer, SP Bako Angbashim, in the state, Gift Okpara, popularly referred to as 2Baba, has been reportedly killed in a police-led major security raid. The police and other security agencies were said to have conducted land and aerial raids at the identical hideout of the Iceland cult leader and his gang at Idu-Ekpeye in Ahoada East local government area of Rivers on Saturday, February 17. According to  The Nation , the Iceland cult leader was reportedly feared dead after the operation.   Recall that in September 2023, the late DPO was ambushed and captured by the cult group led by 2Baba in the Odiemudie community, Ahoada East LGA.   2Baba and his gang then took the DPO to the forest, where they killed him and dismembered his body. The cultists then filmed him. Another source, Obi, said he saw no less than 15 vehicles and an Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) during the operation.
