Anambra State All Progressives Congress guber primaries that holds yesterdsy, being 26th June 2021 across 326 wards in the state has been hijacked by Some power players in the ruling party.
According to the Daily Independent Correspondent who visited Anambra North and Anambra Central Sentorial Zones, it was gathered that at about 4:00 pm, no electoral material have arrived in the wards, nor electoral officers seen. This raised dust that the process is no longer free and fair.
It could recalled that APC NWC has approved a direct primaries for the Anambra gubernatorial primaries which the party members have gone to their wards to cast their votes.
In some zones visited virtually all party members were seen stranded at the various polling centers without the INEC nor Party Officials.
At Oba Idemili South Local Government Area,of the state
Party faithfuls who came out to vote as early as 10 am ,complained that they have been stranded as no sign of election was found for over five hours as it is already 2pm.
Reacting on the development ,the Commissioner Federal Character Commission representing Anambra ,Rev Uche Ukadike Ibeabuchi expressed sad over the ugly development as the faithful was disenfrancized to vote and select a acredible candidate of their choice,
" I came down because of this election because is my party ,i left my house by 10am no sign of Inec nor party officials even there is nothing like election in my ward but by 2pm i took the pains to go round my community to found out if they are conducting election in their various wards in oba while there is none.
Why i took the pains to go round is that people I own federal government explanation where they ask me a question and to enable me give a report when they asked me about my party primaries i will be able to report on what and what is happening in Anambra state but there was no election ,
"Andy Ubah and his cohort Hyjacked the primary election including the chairman of the primary election committee ,his Excellency Dipkpo it is apity for this.
I heard that Andy Ubah is boasting that President Buhari endorsed him that he is going to be a choosing one and nobody can do anything to stop him ,that Governor Hope Uzodinma was the one who took to the President and there is nobody can coming as no governor."Ukadike said.
He quoted Andy Ubah as saying, Nobody can cancelled the election and nobody is not hold any election that they are going to give him the ticket,but i want to tell the APC that they should know what they are doing so that the party will help them to choose the credible person supported by the party faithfuls to win the election ,.
Northing is going on in all wards in the as he garthered in all the three senatorial zones of the state.
He appealled to the federal government to look into the development as it is a very big disaster and is very ashmeful that the ruling party cannot conduct party primaries for just a state .
The Commissioner called o the APC officials to rise up and said no to impunity,some body who cannot rise up or boast in his village can now use because of money,because of Hope Uzodinma is supporting him use state money high jacked election in Anambra state ,it is abomination and people of Anambra state have said no to it,
He urged the party faithful to be calm and wait for National as they are going to look into this ugly matter
Rev . Ukadike warned Andy Ubah not to jeorpardize the reputations of President mohameed Buhari.
Meanwhile many more Anambra APC faithful who speaks through one of the APC stakeholders chris Chibuzo Azuka has continued to çondmned the matter as some element has hyjacked the primaries claiming to have conducted the primaries may be in there room.
They appealled to federal government and party national to look into what befalls APC primaries and get it solved for the national interest and best of the faithfuls as when there credible primaries APC wiil have credible candidate.,aa the correction of this abnormals will serve as a deterrent to other hyjackers in future .
Time for such an ugly thing happened in country is in the past not now ,they stated.
