His Royal Majesty, Igwe Dr Robert Eze, Igwe Ukpo and clan head of Dunukofia Ancient Kingdom has received the new Comptroller of Immigration service of Anambra state command in company of members of the Igwe In-council.
The delegation was however received by the Deputy leader of the Cabinet - Ichie Emma Ogbuka, members of Ukpo Improvement Union led by Mr. Chimezie Ezeaku -Secretary General of UIU who stood in, for the President general Hon. Chukwuemeka Chukwuka who was unavoidably absent. Also present where members of Ukpo Improvement Union Youth Wing led by it's National leader Hon. Chigozie Ilokolobia.
The Comptroller -CIS A. D Eche pcc+, the 16th comptroller of Immigration Service Anambra State Command came in company of the Command Mgt. Team among whom where ; DCI O A Nwaeze, ACI J N Okafor, ACI P N Mezuma, ACI C. Oranye, ACI G O Oladele, ACI M O Anumba and SI N A Ezeh the Command PRO among other officers and men of the Nigeria Immigration Service Anambra State Command.
Igwe Robert Eze, welcomed the August Visitor to Anambra through an address read by his Principal Secretary & Chairman Ukpo Ceremonies Committee- Ichie Sir Izuchukwu Nwabueze and presented to the Comptroller on his behalf , by the Deputy leader of Cabinet Business Ichie Emma Ogbuka, who welcomed and congratulated the Comptroller on his posting to Anambra State Command as the 16th Comptroller of Nigeria Immigration Service Anambra State Command.
He thanked the Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service for sending CIS A D Eche to Anambra State to serve. He prayed for him to have a peaceful and impactful reign as the 16th Comptroller and assured him of the cooperation of Ukpo Community and Anambra State whenever it is sought.
While responding, the Comptroller thanked the Igwe and members of His cabinet; expressed his immense gratitude to His Majesty Igwe Dr R. C Eze for the fatherly disposition he showed him and his entourage through the unequalled warm reception.
The New Immigration boss in the state however pledged his allegiance to the throne as he prayed for longevity of His Majesty, having seen himself as the Majesty's son and member of the Royal family by extension.
He further commended Ukpo Community for leaning on God as the Ceremony started with prayers. He declared that coming to Ukpo was a dream come true and a conviction to the fact that there's God's hand behind his posting to Anambra State Command from Borno State where he served last , given the hand of fellowship and show of love he has so far experienced from well meaning Anambra people since his assumption of duty.
He therefore thanked His Majesty for being there for NIS office and his predecessors who had served here as the state comptrollers.
He however, assured Igwe Dr R. C Eze of his willingness and readiness to assist him and Ndi Ukpo in the issuance of any immigration facilities when called upon during his stay in the office.
In a similar development, the Goodwill message of the Ukpo foremost son - Prince Engr Dr Arthur Eze OFR (Ebube Ukpo, Ozoigbondu) was delivered by Ichie Barr Sir Chukwudi Chikelue who assured the Comptroller of his continued support to the Federal government and it's Agencies for the emancipation of the welfare of all Nigerians.
Speaking on behalf of the Igwe's Cabinet, Ichie Raphael Akude urged the Comptroller to take the Command to higher level as he has been equipped with all the blessings he needed for his work and further assured him of the constant prayers and support of the Igwe In-council.
Speaking further, the National Youth Leader Hon Chigozie Ilokolobia assured him of the support of the Youths, prayed for more promotions for him while urging him to have Ukpo Youths in mind whenever the NIS is carrying out recruitment excercise.
The Secretary General Mr Chinemeze Ezeaku on behalf of the Executive committee and the President general, gave a vote of thanks to the CIS. He informed the CIS that Ukpo is a peaceful, hospitable, very accommodating and security conscious Town and ever ready under the leadership of His Majesty Igwe Dr R. C Eze to assist the service in the execution of her constitutionally assigned functions of regulating and monitoring the movement of non Nigerians resident in Ukpo and it's environs in the areas of information gathering/sharing to forestall vices that may occur as a result of unchecked migrants.
He prayed that as he works in synergy with other security agencies conventional/unconventional , to ensure that Anambra people in this period of heightened insecurity bedeviling our country continue to enjoy the peace they had always enjoyed as a result of their relentless efforts. That God in His infinite mercies will grant him good health, wisdom and strength to pilot the affairs of his office in line with international best practices. As he embark on a memorable and result oriented leadership.
The highpoint of the reception Ceremony was the symbolic signing of the Dunukofia Palace Visitors Register by the Comptroller as administered by the Cabinet Secretary Ichie Nwachukwu Okonkwo.
