The contest for the 2023 general election has peaked since INEC lifted it's ban on electioneering for the 2023 election. While some contestants are going into the contest with mixed feelings ,for want of what to tell the electorate this time around, Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah has already done his home work before time by blazing the trail with the degree of projects , interventions and strategic bills under his belt in Anambra South Senatorial District.
The incident that happened on the 11th of September 2022, where two of the senator's aides were gunned down came as a rude shock to all well meaning Nigerians, and for someone who has contributed to the peace and development of his homeland, this particular incident was the most sad and painful one.
The 9th Senate will forever remember Senator Ubah for being proactive in tackling the issues that concerns his constituency headlong, with legislative disposition which has truly yeilded results in diverse forms. The Prince of the Senate as his colleagues named him, has indeed truly proved his royalty and what he stands for. The many invention as well as bills ,both passed into law and pending are stand as testimonies of his good works. An instance is the Deep Offshore and Inland Basin Production Sharing Contract Law, which today earns Nigeria over 700 billion in revenue.
Many see him in diverse form; but I see him as a trail blazer. Yes, he is a trail blazer, because he has surpassed what so many of his first time colleagues were able to do . As he performed on the National scene, he did not also disappoint Ndi Anambra South Senatorial District at home too. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world like wildlife, he pulled together his friends under Anambra Progressives Development Union (APDU), and in record time built healthcare facilities in the three senatorial districts of Anambra, with the intention of creating over 25,000 jobs through the industrial park in Eziama, Amichi in Nnewi South Local Government Area (LGA), but had today being put on hold because of insecurity.
He did not stop at that, he blazed the trail in operation rehabilitate Anambra South roads, his operation light up Anambra South communities with solar powered installations, houses for widows and the elderly, building of classroom blocks and donation of educational materials are a few but the many interventions of senator Ubah.
As we go into electioneering campaign proper, Ndi Anambra South should know that they have a good personality in Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah. A man of integrity whose interest is to see to the upliftment of the masses especially the youths.
Of course, having failed in their attempt to silence him in the Sept 11 attack , they will come as usual with their blackmail to run him down, but Ndi Anambra South knows who they sent to the Red Chamber and they are also aware that he did not fail in that assignment but rather performed wonderfully well .
Returning him to the Senate will be a big boost for Anambra South Senatorial District.
Returning him to the Senate will be to thank him for the efforts he has made in the last 3 years to ensure that Anambra South Senatorial District got their fair share of the National Cake and then like Oliver Twist , enjoin him to do even more . Our joy is that from Orumba North and South to Aguata, Ihiala, to Ekwusigo and to Nnewi North and South, his impact is physically felt, and the man Senator Ubah needs no introduction.
Let's then vote for a man who has the right compass to navigate the affairs of the constituency to peace, unity and progress.
A trail blazer is a trail blazer, he will do more at the 10th Senate.
