IDEATO ELDERS FORUM RAISES ALARM OVER, UGOCHINYERE IKEAGWUONU ( IKENGA IMO)

IDEATO ELDERS FORUM has raised alarm over the unbearable terror by ugonchinyere IKEAGWUONU A.k.A IMO IKENGA over moves brazingly with armed force men terrorizing people in ideato north and south federal constituency.

That the officers attached to ikeagwuonu ugochinyere (Imo ikenga) are notable for abuse of rights at the behest of their principal. Terror politicking with men of the police force has become a new normal for ideato people.

The group stated that the IGP had clearly disbanded private citizens from using force men for illegal offenses the letter dated no.CB: 4001/IGP.SEC/ABJ/VOL.116/32 dated November 4, addressed to Commissioners of Police, Police Mobile Force, Special Protection Unit and all Commissioners of Police in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory by the IG

The police boss had in a police wireless message dated October 21, 2020, addressed to all state Commissioners of Police ordered them to immediately withdraw the personnel attached to individuals, warning that “any commander who violates this order will bear the consequences.”

The group said they were calling on the inspector general of police to come to the aid of ideato people as they could no longer endure the brutality and gross abuse of rights and violations of law and order in their own communities.

The group stated that to give some insights into the unlawful use of force, human rights violations, and other police misconducts that resulted from the state of terror emergency occasioned by the (IKENGA IMO )UGOCHINYERE IKEAGWUONU and his armed forces. Using a victim-centred approach, accounts of his attached police aggression, use of unwarranted force, and breach of human rights were taken and are verifiable. These accounts were taken with a view to expose the dimensions of misconduct that arose from the ILLEGAL emergency powers granted to IKENGA IMO UGOCHINYERE and the police attached to him in enforcing fear and intimidation in the constituency.

They further stated that they will no longer condone such activities and has called the INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE to immediately intervene to protect lives and properties of the people of ideato .

Tension In Uruagu Nnewi As Community Leaders Dare Soludo,Defy Court Order
