SIR EMEKA OFFOR CELEBRATES 65TH BIRTHDAY, DOLES OUT 40,000 BAGS OF RICE TO INDIGENT WIDOWS IN 179 COMMUNITIES OF ANAMBRA

Foremost business man, philanthropist and Chairman of Chrome Group, Sir Emeka Offor has celebrated his 65th birthday in Oraifite, Ekwusigo LGA of Anambra State. He was joined with well meaning Nigerians at the auspicious ceremony, who wished him well for all his efforts at developing talents across Nigeria. 

The occasion witnessed the distribution of 40,000 bags of rice to widows from 179 communities and educational materials to schools across the state by the Sir Emeka Offor foundation (SEOF). 

In his speech, at the occasion, Sir Emeka Offor thanked well meaning Nigerians from all walks of life who came to celebrate with him. He said " I am glad that God in his infinite mercy has shown me love. I am happy to celebrate my new age with my people and what I have done today gives me joy in a special way, because I am able to bring similes to the those that need it most."
He said that this year's celebration is special to him, reason he thought it wise to celebrate with his people especially at this trying time in the country, where prices of food and cost living has gone beyond the reach of the less privileged. 

In his keynote address at the occasion, the Chairman of Sir Emeka Offor foundation ,(SEOF) Mr. Chris Ezike eulogized Sir Emeka Offor for his contribution to the development of mankind,  through the foundation a non governmental organization that was founded on the 11th of September 1993. He said that the vision and mission of the foundation draws inspiration from the background of the founder, whom he said was not born with a sliver spoon, which informed his decision to help the needy and the less privileged which is indeed a promise to God to empower and give back to the society through the works of the foundation. 

He further stressed that the foundation operates a tripod which is based on education, health and human services as well as empowerment to the less privileged, and has over the years in collaboration with books for africa had donated books worth over $30,000,000( Thirty million dollars) over the years in over 18 African countries, as well as the scholarship scheme of the foundation which he said has assisted many indigent students across africa. 

He said that in the area of health that the foundation runs a health clinic in oraifite, which extends free medical care to the indigent inhabitants, most especially widows and the less privileged. 

The senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District was also on ground to celebrate with Sir Emeka Offor. Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah commended Sir Emeka Offor's untiring commitment to uplifting lives, stating that Sir Emeka Offor has demonstrated this essence of life by ever looking after the less privileged in the society. He said that this feat of doling out over 40,000 bags to the people has proved that he is indeed a man after God's heart. 

He however commended Sir Offor for choosing to celebrate 65th birthday in Anambra a singlely act that shows his care for the progress and development of Anambra.  He however enjoined well meaning Anambrians to follow the footsteps of Sir Emeka Offor at ensuring that the people are happy for their God's given wealth to them. 

The Governor of Anambra state Prof Charles Soludo who was also on ground to celebrate with sir Emeka Offor acknowledged the current food inflation challenges and praised Sir Offor's contribution of 40,000 bags of rice to widows as an unprecedented display of public-private partnership.

He also commended Sir Offor's donation of educational materials to schools, emphasizing the importance of inclusive development.


In their separate  vote of thanks, Sir Dr. Emeka Offor and his wife, Mrs. Adaora Offor, thanked everyone for traveling to  Anambra and other parts of the state to honor them, which they deeply appreciated, and also prayed that everyone that found out time to be with them will go back home safely.
