APGA Leadership Tussle: INEC Obeys Supreme Court Verdict, Affirms Ezeokenwa's Chairmanship

In compliance with the Supreme Court's judgement, INEC has swiftly restored Ezeokenwa's name as APGA Chairman on its website. This development marks a new era for the party, and Ezeokenwa's leadership, which is expected to usher in a period of growth and success for APGA. With the leadership dispute now resolved, the party can move forward with renewed focus and determination.

Recall that the Supreme Court of Nigeria in a landmark ruling, recognized Barr. Sylvester Ezeokenwa as the legitimate Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). This decision, delivered on November 27th, 2024, brings to an end the long-standing leadership dispute within the party. The court's verdict was clear: Ezeokenwa is the rightful national chairman, and his name has been restored on the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) website, as sighted in a press release from the Commission signed by National Commissioner and Chairman information and voter education committee Mr. Sam Olumekun mni. 

The leadership dispute within APGA had been ongoing, with Ezeokenwa and Edozie Njoku vying for control of the party. However, the Supreme Court's ruling has now brought clarity to the situation, affirming Ezeokenwa's position as the rightful National Chairman. The court also awarded an N20 million fine against Edozie Njoku for filing a frivolous suit at the FCT High Court, Bwari.

The implications of this ruling are significant, particularly for APGA's internal structure and its preparations for upcoming elections. With Ezeokenwa at the helm, the party can now focus on its campaign strategies and work towards achieving its goals. The Supreme Court's decision is a testament to Nigeria's commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that democratic institutions function as intended.

Federal Polytechnic Oko Holds Two-Day Recruitment Interview to Address Staff Shortages
