Anambra South Senatorial By-Election: Prince Onwa Nwafor Orizu Joins the Fray

As the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) prepares for the Anambra South Senatorial Zone by-election, Prince Onwa Nwafor Orizu has declared his intention to contest for the seat left vacant by the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah. made the declaration at a press conference held at his country home in Ndiakwu-Otolo Nnewi on Sunday, January 5, 2025.

Prince Onwa Nwafor Orizu emphasized that his decision to run is driven by a desire to serve the people, rather than to accumulate wealth, as he is already contented with what God has given him. He said if elected will focus on sponsoring bills and motions that will improve security, bring development, and enhance the standard of living for the people of Anambra South Senatorial Zone.

The Prince Onwa, also shared his opinion on the rotation of the senatorial seat, stating that Nnewi North local government area should be allowed to complete Senator Ubah's tenure, as a respect for the person of the late Senator who served Anambra South Senatorial District to the best of his ability. This, he believes, is a moral imperative, as it would ensure continuity and fairness.

Prince Onwa Nwafor Orizu is contesting the Anambra South Senatorial District Bye Election under the platform of the People's Democratic Party, the PDP.

The by-election, scheduled to hold early this year, promises to be a keenly contested affair, with various candidates vying to fill the vacant seat. As the campaign heats up, the people of Anambra South Senatorial Zone will be watching closely to see who will emerge as their next representative.
