Ozigbo Unites APC Faithful in Anambra, Sets Tone For Governorship Bid

....Tasks Party Faithful to be committed to rescuing Anambra

In a significant move, Valentine Ozigbo, a leading Anambra gubernatorial hopeful, has boosted the morale of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, with his call for party faithful in the state to remain resolute and commited to the cause of rescuing the state.

While gracing the historic homecoming event held in Nnobi, Idemili South LGA, on Saturday, March 8, 2025. He tasked party faithful on the need to remain unitied in the cause of the battle ahead. The event marked a strategic step in consolidating APC's growing grassroots support in the region. As a multiple-award-winning global CEO and one of Nigeria's most recognized philanthropists, Ozigbo's presence was a significant boost to the party.

The event welcomed stakeholders, returning party members, and new entrants, with several youth and women groups featuring prominently. Hundreds of enthusiastic party faithful expressed excitement at the expected Ozigbo's candidacy.

Speaking at the gathering, Ozigbo commended the party leadership for fostering an environment of inclusivity and expansion. He highlighted the importance of unity as APC gains momentum in Anambra. "I commend the leadership of APC in Nnobi for opening its doors and embracing new members with open arms," Ozigbo said, represented by Ike Bishop Okoronkwo, the National Coordinator of the Valiant Movement.

Ozigbo expressed his appreciation to the party executives present for their commitment to building a formidable political force in the state. Although he was unavoidably absent, attending the APC headquarters in Abuja for screening for the party's governorship primary, his message resonated with the attendees.

The high point of the meeting was the official welcome and decoration of new party members, including Ibenwelu Francis Ibenwelu (Ijele Nnobi), Director of Welfare for the Valiant Movement. Other community leaders and stakeholders pledged their allegiance to the APC.

In February, Ozigbo launched the Valiant Movement, a tech-driven, youth-led grassroots political action group committed to actualizing his Ka Anambra Chawapu (Igbo for Anambra must shine brighter) vision. Members of the movement, known as Valiants, were represented by a high-powered delegation at the event.

Ozigbo's expanding political influence is notable, having emerged as one of the most influential figures in Southeastern politics since stepping away from corporate leadership in 2020. His progressive approach to leadership, inclusive rhetoric, and people-first philosophy have shaped one of the largest grassroots political movements in South East Nigeria.

With the political atmosphere heating up ahead of the elections, Ozigbo's ability to mobilize grassroots support, attract new entrants to APC, and unify diverse political interests is drawing attention from political observers. A trending public analysis however positions Ozigbo as having the best set of advantages in the APC, and as the aspirant best positioned to challenge the incumbent governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, in the November election.
