House of Reps Committee Chair Commends Zobis Electrical Nig. Ltd for Upholding International Standards

The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Local Content, Hon. Boma Goodhead, has commended Zobis Electrical Nigeria Limited for maintaining international standards in its manufacturing processes and for its contribution to Nigeria’s industrial growth.

Hon. Goodhead gave the commendation during an oversight visit to the company’s production facility located in Okoti, Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Speaking to journalists after inspecting the plant, she praised the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ezeobi John, for his commitment to excellence and innovation, describing Zobis products as “among the best in Nigeria.”
“Our oversight visit is to ensure that local manufacturers produce to global standards and can compete favourably anywhere in the world. I must commend Zobis Electrical for maintaining such a high standard,” Hon. Goodhead said.

She further urged the company to sustain its quality assurance and continue aligning with the objectives of Nigeria’s local content policy.

In his remarks, the Anambra State Commissioner for Industry, Hon. Christian C. Udechukwu, who accompanied the committee, appreciated the National Assembly’s oversight initiative and reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting industrial growth.
“The administration of Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo is intentional about industrialisation. Through improved infrastructure and supportive policies, we are ensuring that industries like Zobis Electrical Nig. Ltd. continue to thrive,” Hon. Udechukwu stated.

He further disclosed that the government is developing new industrial estates across the state, which, when fully operational, will create jobs, attract investors, and strengthen the local economy.

Responding, the Chief Executive Officer of Zobis Electrical Nig. Ltd., Mr. Ezeobi John, expressed gratitude to the committee for the visit and commendation. He appealed to the Federal Government to enhance access to funding for manufacturers to increase productivity and competitiveness.

“Government policies on local content have reduced the level of importation and encouraged local production. However, access to finance remains a challenge. We need more support to expand operations and meet market demand,” he said.

Mr. Ezeobi added that Zobis Electrical is committed to maintaining its reputation for quality, with a vision to serve the Nigerian electricity market and begin exporting its products in the near future.

“Our expansion drive is to ensure that customers across Nigeria receive our products promptly, without compromising the high quality we are known for,” he concluded.
