Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba Meets With New Nigerian Patriots, Young Nigerian Voices

…Moves to Chart a New Leadership Path for Nigeria

The former Minister of State for Education, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, PhD, has met with the leadership of the New Nigerian Patriots (NNP) and Young Nigerian Voices (YNV) in Abuja yesterday to discuss pathways for strengthening national leadership, democratic participation, and citizen-driven governance ahead of the country’s next political cycle.

The strategic meeting, held on Thursday, brought together youth leaders, policy advocates, and emerging political stakeholders committed to building a more accountable and progressive Nigeria.

Speaking during the engagement, Nwajiuba emphasized the urgent need for a new form of leadership one that prioritizes national unity, merit, and long-term planning over political rivalry and short-term gains.

He said Nigeria must begin to “harness the energies of its young population” if the country is to break free from persistent economic, political, and social stagnation. “The future of this nation rests heavily on the shoulders of its young people. Any leadership conversation that excludes them is incomplete,” he added.

Leaders of the New Nigerian Patriots described the meeting as part of their ongoing consultations with key national figures who share a vision for a more inclusive and transparent political environment.

According to the DG of the group,Haj. Bilkisu Abubakar Siddiq, Nigeria is at a turning point, and citizens must work together to redefine political accountability and rebuild public trust.

In the same vein the DG of the Young Nigerian Voices (YNV), Prince Collins Enwere, said that the group which is a coalition of youth advocates across the six geopolitical zones of the country, highlights the need for practical reforms in education, job creation, civic participation, and leadership grooming. He noted that constructive partnerships between experienced leaders and young Nigerians would be critical to reshaping the country’s governance structure.

Both groups commended Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba for engaging directly with young Nigerians and for “showing genuine commitment to mentoring the next generation of leaders.”

The meeting ended with an agreement to set up a joint working committee that will develop actionable plans on national leadership renewal, youth political inclusion, and governance reforms. The committee is expected to present its first report in the coming weeks.

The engagement is one of several engagments being held nationwide as civic groups intensify conversations around what many describe as a crucial period for Nigeria’s democratic evolution.

Tension In Uruagu Nnewi As Community Leaders Dare Soludo,Defy Court Order
