FRSC Sensitises Motorists in Anambra Ahead of Sallah Festivities

The Anambra State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has intensified its public enlightenment campaign with a road show aimed at promoting safe road use ahead of the 2026 Sallah celebration.

The sensitisation exercise, held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, focused on educating motorists, passengers and other road users on the need to strictly comply with traffic rules and regulations, with particular emphasis on the dangers of speeding and overloading.

Speaking during the exercise, the Sector Commander, Bridget Asekhauno, noted that the initiative forms part of the Corps’ proactive measures to curb road traffic crashes and ensure the safety of lives and property, especially during festive periods often associated with increased vehicular movement.

The rally took place across key locations within the Awka metropolis, including the busy Awka–Enugu Expressway and major motor parks, where FRSC personnel engaged drivers and commuters while distributing safety materials.

Motorists who participated in the exercise expressed appreciation for the initiative and pledged to adhere to traffic regulations. Leaders of transport unions also reaffirmed their commitment to collaborating with the Corps to promote discipline and safety on the roads.

The FRSC reiterated its resolve to sustain enforcement and public education efforts to guarantee safer roads before, during and after the Sallah celebrations.
