JUST IN: Amb. Ikebunwa Lotanna Hosts ADC Ward and Local Government Executives in Nnewi, Mobilizes Grassroots Support Ahead of 2027

The frontline House of Representatives aspirant for Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, Amb. Ikebunwa Lotanna, has intensified grassroots consultations as part of his political engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a strategic meeting held at his country home in Nnewichi, the aspirant hosted Ward and Local Government Executives of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) drawn from Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Local Government Areas.

The meeting, which brought together party leaders from the three councils, came just days after Amb. Lotanna commissioned the Nnewichi Ward 1 party office, one of about ten ward offices in Nnewi North that he personally funded and fully furnished. The initiative is widely seen as part of his deliberate effort to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure across the federal constituency.


Addressing the gathering, Amb. Lotanna explained that his continuous investments in party structures across the constituency are aimed at ensuring that the ADC is well organized and strategically positioned to perform strongly in the 2027 general elections.

He emphasized that political success begins with a solid grassroots foundation, stressing that ward and local government structures must be properly established, equipped, and financially supported in order to function effectively.

According to him, building a strong and vibrant party presence at the grassroots remains his top priority.

He further assured party leaders that his office would remain open to supporting ward and local government executives in their operational activities, noting that he is fully committed to ensuring that the party becomes deeply rooted and functional across all communities within the constituency.


During the meeting, the Convener of Good Governance Initiative (GGI) formally declared his intention to contest the House of Representatives seat for Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency under the platform of the ADC.

Amb. Lotanna urged the party leadership to support his aspiration, assuring them that he possesses a well-structured development blueprint designed to accelerate progress in the constituency through effective representation, strategic empowerment initiatives, and sustained human capital development.

He also charged ward and local government executives to begin strategic mobilization and political evangelism across communities.

“Our mission as at today is simple and clear,” he said. “We must begin the evangelism of the New Nigeria message from the grassroots. Every community, every street, and every household must hear that the ADC is ready to provide credible leadership and a new direction for our country.”


Beyond providing office spaces for several wards in Nnewi North, Amb. Lotanna has also been actively supporting party operations and grassroots mobilization activities across the constituency through various financial contributions.

Just a few days earlier, he donated the sum of ₦1 million to Nnewichi Ward 1 to support the ward’s membership drive and operational activities.

His sustained support for party structures and grassroots mobilization efforts has continued to attract positive reactions from party faithful and political stakeholders across the three local government areas.


While addressing party leaders at the meeting, Amb. Lotanna also called on residents of Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo to actively participate in the ongoing digital membership registration exercise of the ADC.

He described the exercise as a critical step in building a strong democratic movement capable of producing quality representation and responsible governance in Nigeria.


A successful entrepreneur in the real estate sector, Amb. Lotanna’s political journey has been closely tied to grassroots mobilization.

He previously served as Special Assistant on Grassroots Mobilization to the late Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, where he built extensive political networks across communities in Anambra State.

In addition, he served as Chairman of the Apex Youth Organization in Nnewi North Local Government Area, a role through which he championed youth engagement and encouraged greater community participation in governance.


Political observers note that Amb. Lotanna’s growing popularity within the party is largely driven by his consistent investments in party structures, grassroots empowerment, and community engagement.

Unlike many political aspirants who wait until securing party tickets before building structures, Amb. Lotanna has taken a different approach, prioritizing the strengthening of the party’s foundation long before the election cycle intensifies.

Across Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo, many party members believe that his commitment to people-centered politics, party development, and grassroots credibility positions him as one of the most formidable and marketable candidates within the constituency.

For many stakeholders, if the ADC is determined to secure victory in the constituency and expand its political influence, then the party may already have its most credible standard-bearer in Amb. Ikebunwa Lotanna, a proven grassroots mobilizer, a committed party builder, and a leader whose actions continue to speak louder than promises.
