Anambra State is blessed with Human and Material Resources. Since the creation of the State, we have heard Governors who have governed the State. The only two best so far who have distinguished themselves in governance of the State are Senator Dr. Chris Ngige and Mr. Peter Obi.
The sole reason for their wonderful performances and prudent management of resources is very simple. They were homegrown. They lived with us, eat our food, travel on our roads and understand our Predicaments. In fact, they have the local sense needed to place Anambra State where it rightly belonged. Today, Ndi Anambra can see the difference between Dr. Chirs Ngige, Mr. Peter Obi and Governor Willie Obiano. It is very obvious an "Importee" cannot do much because he does not understand the terrain.
As November 6 Anambra Gubernatorial poll approaches, Dr. Wilson Chidozie Nwankwo is stepping forward with a practical home-grown solution to the challenges bedeviling the State.
It is an understatement to say that Ndi-Anambra are tired and want to reduce and shun the vulnerability attached to re-electing another governor without the knowledge of the state.
Unlike others jostling for Agu-Awka top job, the diadem fits Dr. Wilson Chidozie Nwankwo, the CEO of Wichtech Group, because of his extensive wide understanding of the grassroot.
A man from a humble beginning, who has lived all his life in the ancient city of Onitsha. As a student of the prestigious Government Technical College (GTC), Onitsha and living with his parents at Ozomagana Street in the ancient city of Onitsha, Dr. Nwankwo is an eminent "son of the soil" as said in the local parlance who understands the difficult terrains, nooks and crannies of the State. He is a homegrown man, like Mr. Peter Obi who was equally born and bred in Onitsha.
Also, being a successful and accomplished Industrialist who started his trade in Onitsha, he understands the thorns and turn of businessmen in the most populous market in West Africa which shares adjacent areas with Iweka, Odoakpu, Woliwo, Awada, Ochanja, Sokoto road, Bida Road etc. He will not let the business men and the commercial city of Onitsha down which is in dire need of motorable roads, constant power supply, and government financial aid among other things because he understands that these will harness the socio-economic opportunities with great impact such as: development of tourism, influx of foreign investments, regional development, etc.
The cap fits Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo, a very simple and an unassuming man because his name rings a bell across the landscape of Anambra State with vast knowledge of the area. He is not the type to be tutored about a place he supposed to govern because he belongs to the grassroot; from Nnewi to Onitsha and back to Awka. Many may have never met him face to face but his strings of achievements anchored on his managerial acumen which has seen his company Wichtech Group of Companies soar as one of the best brand in the world, his simplicity, fear of God and industriousness have made him a household name in the country, drawing ceaseless applause for him.
Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo will lead from the front as he knows the road since he lives with us, eats with us, hence; his projects as a governor will be many and widespread across the length and breadth of the State nicknamed 'Light of the Nation'. He is coming as a Governor for all.
For a man who grew and started his business in the state, he knows certainly how to bring together the business clusters of Nnewi, Ekwulobia, Awka and Onitsha, develop the agrarian-based communities of Anambra North comprising the riverine areas of Ogbaru, Omambala, Anambra West, Ayamelum, Orumba South and so on with a bid of earning higher revenues for the state and using them for the common good and enhancing standard of living of our people.
As a leader who shows compassion and understands the plights of his people, he will address the flexibility and mobility of the workforce now affected by incessant traffic congestion in major cities such as Nnewi, Onitsha, Awka and Ekwulobia by the provision of workable access roads if possible Flyovers that will be beneficial to Ndi Anambra.
Since he has transverse the State unlike others, one of his prioritized agenda is to decongest heavy vehicular traffic congestion in major roads such as Onitsha – Nsugbe Road with the provision of a durable brigdes at Nkisi River to provide easier alternatives.
In the area of health care delivery, he will leave no stone unturned at ensuring indelible mark within the shortest time with the provision of new primary healthcare centres in rural areas from Nzam to Aguata, remodel existing ones in the process, establish and fund a Contributory Healthcare Scheme to increase access to quality and affordable healthcare services by Ndi-Anambra. Same feat will be maintained in the areas of housing and adequate water supply, a key component of development in his blueprint.
Indeed, with Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo the palm frond will flourish and luxuriate amidst thorns because he knows us and we know him. He is local man with the Local sense needed to transform Anambra State. One thing Ndi Anambra should know that Academic brilliance cannot translate to good Governance. we need a homegrown Governor who can easily interact with our people and in Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo, we have seen the Governor. Ndi Anambra, come let us go and make a Govenor of our dream.
