AS GOV. UZODINMA CLOCKS 2 YEARS IN OFFICE

...IT HAS BEEN TWO YEARS OF UNPRECEDENTED GOOD GOVERNANCE, INFRASTRUCTURAL REVOLUTION, RESTORATION OF HOPE, SHARED PROSPERITY

The All Progressives Congress, APC, Imo State chapter led by the focused and determined Macdonald K. Ebere, PhD, KSJI, congratulates His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma as he marks two years in office as Governor of Imo State on Saturday January 15, 2022.

Without doubt, it has been two years of massive accomplishments on all sectors and much in synch with the manifesto of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), which substantially influenced the resolve of Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma to give Imo people purposeful, inclusive and transparent governance.

The massive infrastructural development and transformation of the State, which include construction of 46 roads, recovery of K.O. Mbadiwe University, rural infrastructural development, paying off debts incurred by previous administrations, recovery of Imo State assets appropriated to self, cronies and family members by "briefcase politicians,' who never meant well for the state, checking of flooding in Owerri Capital City with the balloon technology, restoration of  Owerri City Master plan, putting an end to perennial traffic gridlock in the State capital through the laudable Urban renewal programme, restoration of sanity to Imo civil service and confidence of the Imo Civil Servants with the provision of vehicles for workers' mass transit , prompt payment of salaries, retraining programmes, empowerment of youths and more can be better appreciated when considered against the backdrop of COVID-19 Pandemic that ravaged the world  for about nine months early in the life of Uzodimma administration but which the Governor confronted with dexterity and did not allow it to embarrass Imo State by providing funds and facilities that improved the Imo health sector tremendously plus the issue of insecurity, EndSARS protest, menace of "Unknown Gun Men,"which saw the leadership prowess of the Governor in full display and which has been used to contain the security challenges and take the battle to the doorsteps of the criminals.

We commend the state government, under the leadership of Senator Hope Uzodimma, for setting ambitious targets, and such clearly demonstrates the commitment of the government to the welfare of Imo people.

According to the Governor: "My government was founded on the democratic principles of open, transparent, accountable, and inclusive governance."

We as a party are in concurrence and commend the Governor for remaining focused on delivering set goals despite many distractions. We will continue to give total support to the Governor in his noble efforts to Recover, Rehabilitate and Reconstruct Imo State. Equally, we are confident that in the remaining two years, the Governor will sustain the momentum and accelerate the pace of good governance in the State.

Security Forces in the state through a coordinated intelligence report has bursted the camp of the unknown gunmen at Akokwa, Arondizuogu after a long gun duel which resulted to the death of some of the criminals and others arrested.
