Umeadi, others Secure YPP Senatorial, Reps Tickets


Dr Chinedu Anthony Umeadi, has secured the YPP Senatorial ticket for Anambra Central Senatorial District, through delegate affirmation at a primaries held on the 29th of May 2022, at Finotel Hotel Awka, Anambra state. The primary election for the purpose of electing Dr Chinedu Anthony Umeadi was garned from the seven Local Government areas that constitute the district – Anaocha, Awka North, Awka South, Dunukofia, Njikoka, Idemili North and Idemili South.


While speaking to newsmen, Dr Umeadi said that he was in the race to make a difference. He commended the delegates and party members for their diligence and perseverance, and promised to impact positively on the lives of the people, through the ideas he has garthered over the years.

He therefore enjoined the youths to come out emasse to support his drive for better representation at the national assembly which has always been the dream of an average youth in Nigeria today, to be represented adequately where matters that affect them are being discussed. He said that having gathered the requisite expertise and experience in management, that he will do better if given the mandate of the people. 


In the same vein, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, has secured the Young Progressive Party (YPP) ticket for the Anambra South Senate seat for the 2023 general elections.


Ubah who emerged through affirmation process, where delegates from the seven Local Government Area (LGAs) – Aguata, Nnewi North, Nnewi South, Orumba North, Orumba South, Ihiala and Ekwusigo – 


Both primaries were witnessed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).


The affirmation was conducted under the supervision of the committee from the YPP National Secretariat, Abuja and INEC officials as observers. The event took place at Awka and Nnewi, respectfully. 


In his acceptance speech, Ubah, who is contesting for the second term, said that his emergence would spur him toward more effective representation to the people of Anambra South Senatorial District.


The senator commended all the party delegates for their support and solidarity with him in ensuring he got the party senatorial ticket for his reelection bid.


Ubah, however, promised not to betray the trust reposed in his person and he will continue to promote their interests when he returns to the Senate.

Federal Polytechnic Oko Holds Two-Day Recruitment Interview to Address Staff Shortages

The Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, has begun a two-day interview exercise aimed at recruiting qualified personnel to fill vacant positions arising from staff retirements and other forms of exit from service. The exercise commenced on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. and is being overseen by the Rector, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, who personally announced the names of shortlisted candidates.
