Police Crack Down on Criminal Gang, Arrest Suspect Linked to Policewoman's Murder

The Anambra State Police Command's Rapid Response Squad/Anti-Kidnapping unit has successfully busted a criminal den in Ukpor, arresting a 35-year-old suspect, Ewulu Chikwo. The suspect allegedly planned to enforce illegal Sit-At-Home in the area and confessed to being a member of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). He also stated his  involvement in the 2022 attack on Ukpor Divisional Police Headquarters, where Inspector Stella Maris was murdered, when interogated by the police. 

The police spokesperson in Anambra SP Ikenga Tochukwu in a statement made available to this medium said that the Suspect Ewulu Chikwo, 35, from Osumoghu Isieke Village, Ihiala LGA, confessed to a planned enforcement of illegal Sit-At-Home and involvement in Inspector Stella Maris' murder in 2022. 

It's worthy to note however that the Joint Security Force has intensified patrols in the area, with the State Police Command assuring swift action on security information.


To this end, the Anambra State Police Command says it remains committed to maintaining law and order, protecting lives and property, and bringing perpetrators to justice in the state, the statement concluded.

Tension In Uruagu Nnewi As Community Leaders Dare Soludo,Defy Court Order
