FedPoly, Oko inaugurates examination malpractice committee

The Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, has inaugurated the institution's examination malpractice committee with a call on them to be objective, thorough and transparent in investigating all reported cases of exam malpractices.

The committee, which has Rev'd Dr. Moses Nnoruga as chairman, and Mr. Mark-Anthony Achuama as secretary, were inaugurated at the rector's office.

While congratulating them on their appointment, the rector, Dr. Chioma Awuzie, explained that their terms of reference include: to investigate all reported cases of examination malpractice in a fair, thorough and transparent manner.
Others include to review and analyse evidence, written, oral, electronic or otherwise submitted in support of each allegation. Conduct interviews and hearing with accused students, complainants and witnesses, ensuring observance of the principles of fair hearing and due process.

The rector also charged the committee members to recommend appropriate disciplinary actions in line with the polytechnic's rules and extant laws governing examination conduct, and also advise management on preventive measures to curb examination malpractice and promote academic integrity in the institution.

She disclosed that management chose staff of impeccable characters as members of the committee and advised them to do the job without fear or favour, and also ensure that they submit a detailed report of findings, conclusions and recommendations to management within a stipulated timeframe.

She charged them to be very objective and eschew sentiments or biases irrespective of who is involved.

In his acceptance speech, the committee chairman, Rev'd Dr.Moses Nnoruga, expressed joy over the confidence reposed in him and other members, and promised to deliver on the mandate given to them. 

He affirmed that they would maintain a high level integrity in discharging their duties, and will not compromise. 

Others members of the committee include: Dr. Patrick Ezeigwe, Dr. Ann Umechukwu, Dr. Vincent Onwughalu, Dr. Chinedu Mbah, Dr. Osita Igwenazor and Mr. Ayoola Akeem-Adeleke.

The rest are: Dr. Osita Okoye, Dr. Samuel a Oguagbaka, Mr. Hillary Ajogwu, Engr. John Ugochukwu Ibe, Barr. Stanley Okafor and Comrade Emmanuel Okolie.

Tension In Uruagu Nnewi As Community Leaders Dare Soludo,Defy Court Order

The President of Uruagu-Nnewi Development Union, Chief Sunday Okoli aka Organizer, and the Obi of Uruagu-Nnewi community in Nnewi North local government area of Anambra State, His Majesty Afamefuna Charles Obi, have swept Soludo's directive to the gutters, by reason of their suspension and subsequent dessolution of the leadership of the community's youth forum, led by Ejike Ifejiofor, and subsequent appointment of caretaker executive to pilot the affairs of youths in the community.
