ADC’s Gubernatorial Team Dedicates Campaign to God, Unveils Vision for Anambra at Thanksgiving Service

In a powerful show of faith, unity, and commitment to public service, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) gubernatorial team in Anambra State today held a solemn Thanksgiving and Dedication Service on Sunday, July 20th July 2025 at the Anglican Cathedral Church of St. Faith, Awka, Anambra State. The early morning service which lasted from 6AM to 8AM, was attended by party members, supporters, friends, and members of the clergy who came to witness the spiritual launch of what many see as a compelling alternative in the forthcoming Anambra gubernatorial election.

The Deputy Governorship Candidate of the ADC, Hon. Sir Geoffrey Ndubuisi Nwobu, Ph.D (Obuka Awka), who hosted the service to express his heartfelt gratitude to God for his nomination and to solemnly dedicate the entire electioneering project to divine guidance, while addressing the congregation stated:

“This dedication service is not just about thanksgiving; it is a personal and collective spiritual covenant to surrender our plans, our campaign, and our aspirations for Anambra to the will of God. We are not just running for office, we are answering a divine call to serve our people with humility, vision, and accountability.”

In a symbolic act of consecration, the ADC campaign team laid their manifestos, campaign plans, and symbols of governance at the altar, seeking blessings for success, peace, and transformation in Anambra State.

While speaking with newsmen at the service the ADC Gubernatorial Candidate, Mr. John Nwosu, a seasoned economist and ICT expert, used the occasion to reinforce the party’s commitment to pragmatic governance built on a robust 7-point agenda.

In his remarks, Mr. Nwosu emphasized, “Our vision for Anambra is clear. We are building a modern, safe, and prosperous state anchored on our seven pillars: Security, Health, Education, Economy, Environment, Markets, and Social Welfare. All of these will be powered through strategic deployment of ICT. We want to bring digital governance, e-health, tech-enabled learning, and economic innovation to the people. I have been a giant in the ICT and economic sector, and I am bringing that capacity home for Anambra’s good.”

Mr. Nwosu stressed that good governance must be rooted in planning, discipline, and accountability, which he said said is in short supply in the current political dispensation in the state.

Speaking to newsmen after the service, Dr. Ndubuisi Nwobu added that the occasion was also a moral reset for the entire campaign.

“Politics must return to the altar of conscience. We want to run a campaign that is clean, people-focused, God-led, and driven by compassion. Today, we rededicate ourselves to Anambra and to the will of God, as everything anyone do must be anchored on God's blessings and direction” he said.

The dedication service drew goodwill messages from political observers, traditional rulers, church leaders, and the people of Awka, who lauded the ADC team for taking a bold spiritual step in their political journey.

With the Anambra gubernatorial election set for November 8, 2025, the ADC’s symbolic dedication service has set a tone of moral purpose, vision, and renewed hope for the future of the state. The party has vowed to run an issue-based campaign that avoids mudslinging and focuses solely on the needs and aspirations of Ndi Anambra.

As the political season heats up, many now see the ADC team of John Nwosu and Geoffrey Nwobu as a team to watch, laying to rest the boasting in some quarters that there is no opposition in the state.
