Sarikin Hausawa Nnewi Backs Soludo for Second Term, Urges Anambra South to Vote APGA

The traditional leader of the Hausa community in Nnewi, Alhaji Salihu Suleiman, has commended the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, for what he described as the governor's visionary leadership and inclusive governance style. He also pledged his full support for Soludo's re-election bid in the next gubernatorial election.

Speaking in an exclusive interview, the Sarikin Hausawa at his office in Nnewi, hailed Soludo's developmental strides, particularly in fostering peace, economic growth, and unity among the diverse communities residing in Anambra. He emphasized that the Hausa community in Nnewi, and indeed across all local government areas under his traditional jurisdiction, will mobilize support for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in both the forthcoming Anambra South Senatorial District bye-election and subsequent polls.

“We are grateful for the peaceful environment created by the governor which has allowed our people to carry on their businesses without fear,” Alhaji Suleiman said. “That is why we will throw our weight behind him for re-election. We believe continuity will bring more progress to Anambra.”

He also used the opportunity to urge residents of Anambra South to vote wisely in the upcoming senatorial bye-election, stressing that APGA remains the only party with a track record of grassroots development in the state.

“The Hausa community in Nnewi and other parts of Anambra South must support the right candidate. Power comes from God, yes, but we must do our part by voting people who care about the welfare of the people,” he said.

Alhaji Suleiman also called on the Chairmen of local government areas in the region to urgently address the issue of deteriorating road infrastructure, especially in Nnewi, which he said is having a negative impact on business activities in the Hausa community.

“Our people are major contributors to the local economy, especially through commerce and livestock trade. Bad roads is making it hard to transport goods and access markets. I appeal to the council authorities to act quickly,” he added.

He reaffirmed that all local government areas under his leadership will work collectively to ensure overwhelming support for APGA in the upcoming elections, citing the party’s consistent commitment to inclusiveness, development, and social welfare.

Alhaji Suleiman's endorsement of Governor Soludo and APGA comes as a significant boost for the party, especially within the northern community in Anambra, known for their commercial strength and strong voter mobilization.
