Nwajiuba declares open 2021 Annual General Meeting for Principals of Federal Unity Colleges.

The minister of state for Education, Hon Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba has declared open the 2021 Annual General Meeting of Principals of Federal Unity Colleges.

The Minister however decried the poor management of school facilities by management of schools, he said the ills of the society today is as a result of the failure of teachers of yesterday just as the failure of today's teachers affects the future.

He also called for restoration of values of Federal Unity Schools to help foster national cohesion instead of the community school we have today. He advocated for student and staff exchange to help encourage unity.

In attendance was the Deputy Governor of Gombe State, H.E Manasseh Daniel Jatau, who commended the Hon Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba for his passion, dedication and blunt approach towards the development of the nation's education sector.

Also present was the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education Arc Sonny Ochono, Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission, Dr Hameed Boboyi Directors at the Federal Ministry of Education as well as the Principals of the 110 Federal Unity Colleges from across the 6 geopolitical zones.

BREAKING: 2Baba Shot Dead In Rivers State

A notorious cult leader and the prime suspect in the brutal murder of the late Divisional Police Officer, SP Bako Angbashim, in the state, Gift Okpara, popularly referred to as 2Baba, has been reportedly killed in a police-led major security raid. The police and other security agencies were said to have conducted land and aerial raids at the identical hideout of the Iceland cult leader and his gang at Idu-Ekpeye in Ahoada East local government area of Rivers on Saturday, February 17. According to The Nation , the Iceland cult leader was reportedly feared dead after the operation. Recall that in September 2023, the late DPO was ambushed and captured by the cult group led by 2Baba in the Odiemudie community, Ahoada East LGA. 2Baba and his gang then took the DPO to the forest, where they killed him and dismembered his body.
