STATE ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS: APC REMAINS THE PREFERRED CHOICE OF IMO PEOPLE.

...PDP AND ANTI DEMOCRATIC ELEMENTS IN IMO URGED TO RESPECT THE VERDICT OF THE MASSES.

The attention of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Imo State chapter has been drawn to a press statement credited to the opposition People's Democratic Party, PDP in the state, targeted at undermining the credibility of the imminent victory of our party across the state, in the ongoing state assembly elections.

The publicity secretary of the APC in Imo, Cajethan Duke in his press release stated that "The now rotten, rejected and forsaken PDP, apparently still in shock of the ugly and unpalatable reality of it's current state of hopelessness, frustration and lack of direction, following it's abysmal performance in the February 25 Presidential and National Assembly elections, today alleged unsubstantiated the invasion of Ideato North LGA by thugs and Ebubeagu security outfit."

The release further stated that "In as much as there is nothing near the truth in the said mischievous press statement, which should not be regarded by every serious minded and discerning members of the public, we sincerely appreciate the current state of PDP in the state in particular,  South East and Nigeria in general."

The party however stressed that the outright rejection of the party by our people, was not only pathetic, humiliating and heartbreaking but emotionally and psychologically devastating. We sincerely sympathize with them. Contrary to the failure induced hallucination, the candidates of our party according to report available to us are as at time of this report, enjoying comfortable lead in almost all the LGAs, courtesy of the popularity of our party, visibility of our candidates and the uncommon performance of our dear governor.

"Like we have rightly observed before now, Imo PDP has been confined into a newspaper opposition, only heard but not seen. There's no gainsaying the fact that the all round superlative performance of His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma in the state within the short stay in office, has not only dwarfed and demystified the opposition PDP, but has unapologetically exposed the unpopularity of the party and it's overrated leaders."

"We are indeed grateful to the people of Imo State for the overwhelming support and solidarity to our party and all our candidates in this election."

The APC further stressed that "It is therefore our advise to the opposition PDP to foreclose any form of participation in the forthcoming governorship election in the state, and use the next four years to embark on self reappraisal, internal rehabilitation, reconstruction and possibly recovery before presenting itself again to our people. A political party that has exhibited gross incompetence in rebuilding itself cannot offer itself through a ponzi scheme of rebuild Imo project."

"Our victory in this election is indeed a good signal of what to come as we approach the November 2023, Imo guber election."
