Anambra Guber Polls: CP Orutugu Urges Officers to Remain Apolitical

As the 2025 gubernatorial election in Anambra State draws near, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has urged officers deployed to provide security services to remain professional, apolitical, and neutral. This warning comes as political parties prepare for primaries to select their flag bearers.

CP Orutugu while interfacing with officers and men of the command emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order during this critical period. To achieve this, the Command has strategically deployed personnel and engaged with stakeholders to prevent potential conflicts. Security teams will conduct patrols, surveillance, and traffic control in conjunction with other security agencies.

The Commissioner also called on candidates to adhere to the rules and ensure a peaceful and credible electoral process. He encouraged members of the public to cooperate with the police and other security agencies in maintaining law and order.

He said that the Anambra State Police Command is committed to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that all individuals, including politicians and their supporters, respect the democratic process.
