SIR EMEKA OFFOR IS WORTHY OF EMULATION - SENATOR IFEANYI UBAH

The Distinguished Senator representing Anambra South and National Leader of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah stated this earlier on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, while attending the commissioning of an Ultramodern Hall donated to Rotary Club International by the founder & CEO of Chrome Group, Sir. Dr. Emeka Offor at the Rotary International District 9125 Center, Abuja. Senator Ubah hailed Sir Offor for his laudable efforts towards the advancement of the human race.  While making a brief remark at the event, Dr. Ubah noted that Sir. Dr. Emeka Offor's benevolence is nothing short of utter kindness and love for humanity. 


Senator Ubah recalled that Sir Emeka Offor had in the past  made generous contributions of over $3.5 million (USD) to numerous Rotary Club programmes; donated medical equipment and books worth over $30 million (USD) to hospitals and academic institutions across Nigeria; and other African countries following the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. He further praised the legacy of Sir Offor as one that every prominent Nigerian should aspire to replicate both at home and the world at large. 


On Sir Emeka Offor's immense commitment towards the fight against the Wild Polio Virus, Dr. Ubah lauded  Sir Offor for leading the robust crusade to rid Nigeria of the ugly ailment. 


Senator Ubah who is an AKAS member inducted into the  Rotary Club International District 9140 in 2016, seized the opportunity to applaud the Organization for relentlessly remaining committed towards  ensuring that the world is free from various health crisis .  


He reassured them that he will continue to advocate for legislative support that aids human capital growth. It is noteworthy to mention that besides using his official capacity , Senator Ubah has always been at the forefront of philanthropic efforts that impacts hugely on the  people. In the thick of the novel Coronavirus pandemic  last year, Dr. Ubah convened over 420 billionaires including Sir Emeka Offor, under the auspices of Anambra Progressives and Development Union to shore up the fight against the global health crisis back home. Under his leadership, the group built and  commissioned two Ultramodern Medical and Isolation Centers in the permanent site of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi and Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka respectively. 

 

Rotary District 9125 Governor, Dr. Victor C. Onukwugha, at the event, expressed gratitude to Sir Offor for his continuous largesse to the Organization. He went on to appreciate Senator Ubah and all Rotarians in Nigeria for sharing in their endeavours towards  achieving the Organization's objectives.

 

Responding , Sir Dr. Emeka Offor applauded  Rotary International for their unwavering support to the human race. He recognized the  Organization's push to enthrone a fair society and quality healthcare both in Nigeria and around the globe.

 

The event was graced  by several  high-profile personalities such as the former Senate President of Nigeria, Mr Ken Nnamani, the current Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development,Mr Uche Ogah, the Former Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof. Joseph Eberendu Ahaneku, AIG Chris Ezike, as well as Hon. Tony Nwoye etc .

Tension In Uruagu Nnewi As Community Leaders Dare Soludo,Defy Court Order

The President of Uruagu-Nnewi Development Union, Chief Sunday Okoli aka Organizer, and the Obi of Uruagu-Nnewi community in Nnewi North local government area of Anambra State, His Majesty Afamefuna Charles Obi, have swept Soludo's directive to the gutters, by reason of their suspension and subsequent dessolution of the leadership of the community's youth forum, led by Ejike Ifejiofor, and subsequent appointment of caretaker executive to pilot the affairs of youths in the community.
