The suspects were brought before the Children, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Court in Awka on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, and were remanded at the Correctional Centre pending further proceedings. Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, reaffirmed the Command’s resolve to protect children and other vulnerable groups in the state. The Anambra State Police Command has successfully taken into safe custody a 13-year-old boy, Anayo Stephen, who was allegedly abducted in Imo State. According to the police, the young boy from Ubaha-Akparu Community in Ideato Local Government Area of Imo State was found at Ideani Junction in Anambra State after managing to escape from his captors. Anayo recounted his harrowing experience, stating that on August 9, 2025, four young men in a Hilux vehicle stopped him while he was on his way to fetch grass for goats.
