Human rights activist urges Benue, Plateau communities to organize self-defense against herdsmen

Human rights activist and lawyer Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor is urging indigenous communities in Benue and Plateau States to take action against the continued violence perpetrated by suspected armed herdsmen. In response to the recent "blood harvest" before Easter 2025, Ejiofor, who serves as counsel to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), expressed disappointment in the government's failure to address the situation, emphasizing the need for self-defense measures. RULAAC Urges Governor Soludo to Restore Peace in Isuaniocha

The Rule of Law and Accountability Advocacy Centre (RULAAC) has called on Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, to intervene in the escalating violence in Isuaniocha community, located in Awka North Local Government Area. The community is being terrorized by Mr. Anthony Onyeagolu and his armed gang, disrupting peace and preparations for a burial ceremony. Ohanaeze youths knock FG over closure of Enugu airport, concession plan

Fresh condemnation has trailed the sudden closure of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu. The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) had announced that there is a significant rupture in the asphalt surface at a critical section of the runway that requires emergency repairs. FAAN, in a statement by the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mrs Obiageli Orah, stated that the repairs will be conducted on that portion of the runway from April 22nd to May 6th, 2025. FAAN added that all flights to the airport will be diverted to nearby airports. Hausa Community in Nnewi Seeks Government Recognition and Protection
