OKO FEDERAL POLY RECORDS ANOTHER MILESTONE WITH COMMENCEMENT OF HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT BUILDING PROJECT

Oko Federal Polytechnic has recorded another major milestone under the leadership of its Rector, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, with the commencement of construction work on the long-abandoned Hospitality Management Building.

The project, which had been left unattended for over a decade, is now being revitalized through the intervention of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund). Designed to comprise staff offices and guest rooms, the building is expected to significantly improve the institution’s infrastructure and service delivery once completed.

According to the Polytechnic management, the new facility will help address the challenge of inadequate office space for staff, while also providing comfortable accommodation for visitors. Beyond these benefits, it is projected to enhance the internally generated revenue (IGR) of the institution and strengthen the practical training of students in the Department of Hospitality Management.

This renewed effort reflects Dr. Awuzie’s visionary and purposeful leadership, which has continued to reposition Oko Federal Polytechnic for academic excellence and sustainable development. Her administration has been widely commended for deepening infrastructural growth, promoting a conducive learning environment, and upholding high standards of education.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie as the substantive Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State. Dr. Awuzie's appointment, which takes effect immediately for a five-year term, follows the recommendation of the Polytechnic's Governing Council, chaired by Sen. Dr. Barnabas Gemade, after a transparent and competitive selection process where she emerged as the leading candidate.
