Imo ADC Youth Leader Meets Owerri Zone Leaders to Deepen Grassroots Mobilisation

The Imo State Youth Leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hon. Chika Emedo, has held a strategic meeting with youth leaders from Owerri Zone aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilisation and internal coordination within the party.

The meeting, which took place at the party’s State Secretariat in New Owerri, brought together zonal, local government and ward youth leaders from across the nine local government areas in Owerri Zone.

Addressing participants, Hon. Emedo commended the youth leaders for their commitment to party growth and grassroots engagement. He described young people as a vital force in building a strong and stable political structure, stressing the importance of unity, discipline and effective communication.

The state youth leader urged leaders at all levels to intensify engagement within their wards and local governments, noting that vibrant grassroots structures remain central to increasing political participation and strengthening party visibility. He also reiterated the readiness of the state youth leadership to support initiatives that promote youth inclusion, leadership development and responsible political participation.
He further charged the leaders to be proactive in identifying challenges facing members and to work collaboratively in addressing them. According to him, sustained coordination and regular reporting across the zone would enhance organisational effectiveness and position the ADC as a forward-looking political platform in Imo State.

In his remarks, the Owerri Zonal Youth Leader, Hon. Chidiebere Nzerem, expressed appreciation to the state leadership for the engagement. He noted that the meeting provided an opportunity to review activities, improve communication between the state and zonal structures, and strengthen strategies for grassroots expansion.

Hon. Nzerem reaffirmed the commitment of youth leaders in Owerri Zone to expanding membership, improving grassroots participation and ensuring effective dissemination of party programmes at the ward level.
The meeting also witnessed solidarity visits from the State Treasurer, Hon. Timothy Obodozie, and Arc. Magnus Chilaka, who encouraged the youth leaders to remain focused and united in advancing the party’s objectives. Other officials present included the Deputy State Youth Leader, Hon. Chidi Ekechi; the South East Female Coordinator, Hon. Mrs. Desire Chinenyenwa Osondu; and the Orlu Zonal Youth Leader, Hon. Peter Nkemjika, among other stakeholders.
