Anambra’s 21 LGAs Unite Behind Soludo: A Mandate Renewed, a Vision Reaffirmed

By Christian ABURIME  In a rare show of unity and political maturity by the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, the entire political architecture of Anambra State converged with a single voice as all 21 Local Government Areas rallied behind Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, unanimously endorsing him as the sole candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the forthcoming gubernatorial election.  The APGA convention, held in a charged but peaceful atmosphere, recorded 3,260 accredited delegates, out of which 3,175 cast their votes. Of those, 3,168 were valid, with only four invalid entries—each one of the valid votes going to Soludo, a clean sweep that underscored the confidence reposed in his leadership. Violence and Police Collusion Alleged as Nicholas Ukachukwu’s Thugs Block APC Accreditation in Awka

AWKA, Nigeria  The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in Anambra State descended into chaos on Saturday morning, as thugs loyal to aspirant Nicholas Ukachukwu, allegedly in concert with police officers, violently disrupted the delegate accreditation process at the Beautiful Gate Hotel, Awka. By 10:37 a.m., Saturday, April 5, 2025, the hotel gate had reportedly been taken over by Ukachukwu’s private security operatives and suspected thugs, who, with apparent support from police personnel on the ground, began preventing accredited delegates without Ukachukwu’s campaign identification from accessing the venue. Trader Issues Pre-Action Notice to NAFDAC Over Alleged Looting at Onitsha Market

A trader at Ogbo-Ogwu Bridge Head Market in Onitsha,  Anambra State has taken legal action against the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), demanding accountability and compensation for significant losses incurred due to alleged looting by officials. The Office of the President of the Senate has issued a strong statement condemning the recent allegations made by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, accusing Senate President Godswill Akpabio of plotting to assassinate her. The statement signed by RT Hon. Eseme Eyiboh the spokesperson to the Senate President describes the allegations as baseless, false, and inflammatory.
