MAN Decries Deplorable Condition Of Imo Industrial Estate

The Chairman of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN)IMO/Abia branch Chief R N J Anyanwu has lamented the deplorable state of the Onitisha road industrial layout situated at Irete near Owerri.
He explained that the available industries in the layout, are faced by harsh environmental problems pointing out that among the challenges is the deplorable condition of the roads network in the
industrial estate.
The chairman, told our correspondent in an exclusive interview in Owerri Monday, that over 90 per cent of the investors have relocated their investments to other states, especially Ahoada and Omoko in Rivers State where the manufacturing environment is relatively healthier.
According to him his worry over the Present state of the industrial layout, was that about 10,000 skilled and unskilled workers, have lost their jobs due to successive government’s neglect of the area.
He regretted that the past state governments and the present state
government, allowed the infrastructural facilities put in place by former governor of the state late Chief Sam Mbakwe’s administration to rot away.
