FRSC Anambra Command Moves to Standardize Driving Schools, Streamline License Process

The Anambra State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has unveiled a strategic initiative to strengthen the operations of certified driving schools and enhance transparency in the issuance of driver’s licenses.

Led by the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Joyce Nnennaya Alexander, the initiative seeks to improve public awareness, discourage the use of substandard training institutions, and reinforce the integrity of the National Driver’s License Scheme (NDLS).

In partnership with the Driving School Proprietors Association of Anambra State, the FRSC has produced banners displaying the names of all FRSC-certified driving schools. These banners will be prominently placed at all Driver’s License Centres across the state.

According to the FRSC, the initiative aims to:Educate the public and prospective drivers about approved driving schools, discourage the use of unregistered and unqualified training centers, curb the issuance of fake or compromised training certificates, and promote accountability and professionalism in driver education.

The command emphasized that the move is part of a broader effort to uphold the standards of the Driving School Standardization Programme (DSSP) and reduce road traffic crashes through better driver training.

“This initiative reinforces our commitment to safer roads and a more credible licensing process,” said RC Margaret B. Onabe, Sector Public Education Officer of the Anambra State Command.

The Corps believes that by elevating the standards of driving education, it can foster a culture of responsible driving and significantly reduce the risks of accidents on Nigerian roads.
