Anambra Police Rescue 13-Year-Old Boy Abducted in Imo

The Anambra State Police Command has successfully taken into safe custody a 13-year-old boy, Anayo Stephen, who was allegedly abducted in Imo State. According to the police, the young boy from Ubaha-Akparu Community in Ideato Local Government Area of Imo State was found at Ideani Junction in Anambra State after managing to escape from his captors.

Anayo recounted his harrowing experience, stating that on August 9, 2025, four young men in a Hilux vehicle stopped him while he was on his way to fetch grass for goats. Under the guise of asking for directions, the men abducted him and took him to an undisclosed location. Miraculously, Anayo escaped while his captors slept and was fortunate enough to encounter vigilante operatives at Ideani Junction, to whom he narrated his ordeal.

The Anambra State Police Command is now reaching out to the public, particularly the family of Anayo Stephen, in the hopes of reuniting him with his loved ones. The boy is fluent in both Igbo and English, and his picture is available for sharing to facilitate identification.

The Command kindly requests the assistance of the media in disseminating this information to aid in the reunion process. With the police working diligently to ensure the safe return of Anayo to his family, the public's cooperation is invaluable.

For further information or any leads, please reach out to the Anambra State Police Command through SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer. Let's work together to bring Anayo home
