ECOWAS partners Anambra To Train 200 youths in fish production

Anambra Joint Security Team Recovers Snatched SUV, Arrests Female Accomplice in Kidnap and Armed Robbery Case

The Anambra State Joint Security Team has recovered a snatched Toyota Highlander belonging to a kidnap and armed robbery victim and arrested a female accomplice linked to the crime in Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area. According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, operatives attached to the 3-3 Police Station, in collaboration with the Agunechemba Security outfit, Nkwelle-Ezunaka Unit, made the breakthrough in the early hours of October 27, 2025. The arrested suspect, identified as Okonkwo Onyinye, 23, is said to have played a supporting role in the robbery operation that left the victim traumatized and millions of naira taken from him. PLANNED POWER OUTAGE IN PARTS OF ENUGU CANCELLED

The Mainpower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL) has announced the cancellation of the planned power outage earlier scheduled to affect parts of Enugu between Wednesday, October 22, and Friday, October 31, 2025. According to a statement issued on Thursday, October 23, 2025, by the company’s Head of Communications, Mr. Emeka Ezeh, the outage — which was expected to last daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. — was called off due to unforeseen technical constraints communicated by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN). The affected 33KV feeders included Kingsway Lines 1 & 2, Emene Industrial Lines 1 & 2, Thinkers Corner, Trans-Ekulu, Ugwuogo, and Ituku Ozalla. Mr. Ezeh noted that a new schedule for the planned maintenance would be announced once arrangements are finalized. He expressed regret over any inconvenience the sudden change may have caused customers and thanked them for their understanding and continued cooperation.
