Okigwe North: Why I Want To Be Re-elected

Hon Engr. Obinna Kingsley Onwubuariri, has assured members of his federal constituency of his readiness to represent them in no small measure when reelected come January 25th, 2020. He made this known in meeting when hordes of youth leaders from some wards in Okigwe North paid him a courtesy visit.

Addressing the audience of the youths, journalists and well-wishers, Hon Obinna said he sought the office once more to bring government closer to his people. Flanked by over 150 youth leaders, the lawmaker said he would work to serve the people more if elected.

"I seek your vote and support in this RE-RUN election to bring good governance even closer to our people. I seek your support and votes to mentor the next generation. I seek this office to galvanize my fellow elected lawmakers to make life more abundant for every Nigerian and Okigwe northerner in particular. There are so much work to be done by way of legislation in many areas of our life including but not limited to education, health, power, infrastructure and alleviation of poverty. I believe many of these deficits can be addressed through meaningful and impactful legislation.

The lawmaker was first elected in 2015 to represent Isiala Mbano/Onuimo/Okigwe federal constituency in Imo state, hinted on his years of experience in the House as an advantage to represent his people better. He also hinted that the last four years has afforded him the opportunity to study and take note of important areas for action.

"I have spent the last four years in doing my best to acquaint myself with the nitty-gritty’s of the House, whilst exploring and studying how best dividends of democracy can get to my people, not forgetting lifting many out of poverty. I have taken copious mental and physical notes and it will the right time for its implementation when re-elected," Hon Obinna said.

BREAKING: 2Baba Shot Dead In Rivers State

A notorious cult leader and the prime suspect in the brutal murder of the late Divisional Police Officer, SP Bako Angbashim, in the state, Gift Okpara, popularly referred to as 2Baba, has been reportedly killed in a police-led major security raid. The police and other security agencies were said to have conducted land and aerial raids at the identical hideout of the Iceland cult leader and his gang at Idu-Ekpeye in Ahoada East local government area of Rivers on Saturday, February 17. According to  The Nation , the Iceland cult leader was reportedly feared dead after the operation.   Recall that in September 2023, the late DPO was ambushed and captured by the cult group led by 2Baba in the Odiemudie community, Ahoada East LGA.   2Baba and his gang then took the DPO to the forest, where they killed him and dismembered his body. The cultists then filmed him. Another source, Obi, said he saw no less than 15 vehicles and an Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) during the operation.
