EEDC Announces Planned Power Outage in Anambra, Parts of Enugu

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has announced a planned power outage in Anambra State and parts of Enugu State, including Oji River and adjoining communities.

According to a statement issued by the company’s Group Head, Corporate Communications, Emeka Ezeh, the outage will take place from Sunday, August 31, to Monday, September 1, 2025, between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. daily.

Ezeh explained that the exercise is to enable the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) maintenance team to replace faulty overhead stack porcelain insulators at its 330kV switch yard in Awada.

He noted that electricity supply to customers within the affected areas will be interrupted during the maintenance period, while assuring that the exercise is targeted at enhancing service delivery.

The EEDC management expressed regret over the inconvenience the planned outage might cause customers and appealed for their patience and understanding.
