Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, Mark 1 Year in Office, Highlight Achievements

Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Today underscored a memorable and auspicious day in his life as he marks 365 days in office as the Senator representing Anambra South in the Ninth Senate; a significant milestone in his political journey, and unique representation to the good people of Anambra South Senatorial  District.
 
On this occasion, he thanked Almighty God for his faithfulness, good health, guidance, peace and protection. The senator however  thanked his wife and family who have stood by him throughout the years, as they have been a reliable and firm pillar of support who have shown him the meaning of consistency and faithfulness through their love for him.

Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah used the opportunity to appreciate his constituents for their staunch belief and continuous support in the journey so far; based on the promise to change the developmental indices in the Senatorial zone that is today gradually taking shape to the glory of God he said.
 
He stated that after taking the oath of office 365 days ago, he resolved to take Anambra South to greater heights, which has manifested through his open door and transparent approach to legislative duties.

Its good to note however that he threw his doors wide open at the disposal of his constituents in a clear departure from what was obtainable in the past and by so doing was able to get first-hand knowledge of  information's and interventions for the people both on individual and collective levels.

It is worthy of note that irrespective of numerous unwarranted litigative provocations the senator has faced over the past 365days, he sponsored bills and motions that laid emphasis and focused  attention on matters that directly affect the people of Anambra South.

Its worthy of note that Distinguished Senator Dr Patrick Ifenyi Ubah moved the following Motions:*
 
1: Motion on the urgent need to protect Nigeria's indigenous airlines from extinction due to multiple designations and frequencies granted foreign airlines in Nigeria.
 
2: Motion on the urgent need to look into the infrastructural decadence ravaging the Nkwo Nnewi commercial cluster, trade fair complex along Lagos-Badagry Expressway and Oshodi Apapa Expressway which leads to Nigeria’s biggest Seaports - Tincan and Apapa Wharf.
 
3: Motion to investigate crude oil revenue loss which will generate #360 billion annually through the review of the Deep Offshore and Inland Basin Production Sharing Contract Act Cap D3 LFN 2004 and Amendment of Act.
 
4: Motion on the urgent need to investigate the tragic fuel tanker disaster in Onitsha, Anambra State.
 
5: Motion on the closure of over 600 Nigerian shops and businesses in Ghana (Ndi Igbo being the most affected).
 
6: Motion on the urgent need for the federal government of nigeria to take proactive measures to forestall an imminent scarcity of surgical facemasks in Nigeria as a result of the corona virus outbreak and the urgent need to checkmate the unpatriotic profiteering and illegal exportation of facemasks to asia and other affected countries.
 
7: Motion on the urgent need for the federal government to streamline import duty and value added tax(VAT) waiver to essential pharmaceutical drugs.
 
*Other Legislative Interventions, include
 
1: In his zeal to ensure the ease of getting Chinese Visas for Ndi Anambra, he led a delegation of igbo market leaders to the Chinese Consul general in Lagos to discuss Visa issuance policies directly affecting my people.
 
2: He also urged the Ecological Fund Office and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to visit 100 Foot Road Nnewi erosion site, Ekwulobia-Oko-Umunze- Ichida road, Ichi-Oraifite road, Agulu-Nanka gully Erosion site, Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Awka and Nnewi Campuses) as well as Umunze erosion site,  Uga-Aguata road and others.
 
3: He urged the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), and Other Relevant Agencies to ensure that every tanker meant for transportation of petroleum meets the standard requirements in safety protocols  in order to reduce the rate of fuel tanker explosions in the country as the recurring menace has also claimed several lives and properties along Onitsha, Anambra state, Oji river, Enugu Express Way etc.
 
4: On growing our local economy: he led Anambra South Industrialists, Chief Allen Onyema, CEO of Air Peace and Chief Akai Egwuonwu, CEO; Anambra rice/Stine Mills to a strategic partnership meeting with the Chinese Consular General in Lagos.
 
5: He urged the Federal Government to assist the victims  affected traders in the Ochanja market  tanker inferno with relief materials , including financial support to enable them  restart their businesses.
 
6: Furthermore, he urged the Federal Government through the ministry of interior to set up fire prevention stations in Onitsha and other markets across Anambra State.
 
7: On the $22.7 billion FG Foreign Loan: Having noted that there was no request from Anambra State Government like other states did, Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah emphasized the need for the Federal Government to fast-track project on River Niger and other capital projects in my state with capital projects funds in the absence of no request from the State Government.

8. He led the then incoming Senate President; His Excellency, Dr. Ahmad Lawan to Lagos in March 2019, to restore sanity to the international trade fair complex Lagos that was under tension of being taken over by external forces.

9. Recently, He worked with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Air Peace to facilitate the evacuation of 270 Nigerians from China which were mostly my people. I negotiated non-payment of accommodation fees for them during quarantine upon arrival.

1: Donation of five units of  300kva transformers one each to  Uga town, Achina town Aguata LGA, Enugwu-Ukwu town in  Njikoka , Unubi town in Nnewi south LG and Osumenyi.
 
2: Distribution of two hundred (200) brand new motorcycles  across the seven local government areas in Anambra South Senatorial Zone.
 
3: Rebuilding of the burnt electrical parts market Nnewi. 
 
4: Distribution of sixty-two (62) brand new Keke-Napep trycycles across all the local govts in Anambra.State.

10: Distribution of palliatives to all traditional rulers in Anambra South.


Given the above eagle eye view of the array of his legislative interventions, Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyo Ubah reiterated that his dream of a better Anambra South is purely borne out of the interest and desire to harness  the vast human and material resources including the  economic viability of the various towns and utilize them for the sustainable growth and development of our people.

He further stated that Its worthy of note at that he is fully focused on seeing all his Strategic bills through to implementation stage as this will provide massive employments for our teeming youth population.
He told his constituents and supporters, to be rest assured that he will keep running his open door policy and expect to hear from them whenever the need arises.

He thanked all for their massive  support and advice including their constructive criticisms. He said " It is my sincere hope that with your relentless support, ideas and prayers, I will continue to fashion our legislative interventions for the development of my Senatorial District; Anambra South, the South Eastern economy and Nigeria at large."

BREAKING: 2Baba Shot Dead In Rivers State

A notorious cult leader and the prime suspect in the brutal murder of the late Divisional Police Officer, SP Bako Angbashim, in the state, Gift Okpara, popularly referred to as 2Baba, has been reportedly killed in a police-led major security raid. The police and other security agencies were said to have conducted land and aerial raids at the identical hideout of the Iceland cult leader and his gang at Idu-Ekpeye in Ahoada East local government area of Rivers on Saturday, February 17. According to  The Nation , the Iceland cult leader was reportedly feared dead after the operation.   Recall that in September 2023, the late DPO was ambushed and captured by the cult group led by 2Baba in the Odiemudie community, Ahoada East LGA.   2Baba and his gang then took the DPO to the forest, where they killed him and dismembered his body. The cultists then filmed him. Another source, Obi, said he saw no less than 15 vehicles and an Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) during the operation.
