Anambra AA Candidate, Nweke, Congratulates Soludo, Urges Rivals to Shun Court Battles

The governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in the just-concluded Anambra State election, Chief Jeff Nweke, has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo on his victory, urging other contestants to accept the outcome and join hands with the governor in advancing the state.

Speaking at a press conference in Awka on Monday, Nweke described the election as largely peaceful, credible, and a true reflection of the people’s will. He appealed to those planning to challenge the results in court to reconsider, emphasizing that governance requires collective effort rather than prolonged legal battles.

“Our people have spoken, and the voice of the people is the voice of God,” Nweke said. “I have accepted the outcome of the election and already sent my congratulatory message to the governor. It is time for all of us, regardless of party affiliation, to come together and support him in building a greater Anambra.”

Nweke commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the electorate for conducting themselves peacefully, noting that voter turnout and civility at polling units demonstrated growing democratic maturity in the state.

While acknowledging reports of vote buying in some areas, he clarified that such incidents did not appear widespread. “In my own polling unit, I did not witness any vote buying. Even if such occurred elsewhere, no one was forced to vote against their will. The result reflects the wishes of our people,” he stated.

The AA candidate lauded Governor Soludo’s post-election message in which he extended an olive branch to other contenders and pledged to run an inclusive government. He urged the governor to prioritize technology-driven security initiatives and massive employment creation to tackle the challenges of insecurity and hunger in the state.

“If I were in his position, I would focus on job creation because unemployment is at the heart of insecurity and crime,” Nweke added. “I also advise him to leverage technology in addressing security issues. Our people deserve safety, prosperity, and unity.”

Nweke concluded by appealing to fellow contestants to embrace peace and support the administration for the collective progress of Anambra State.

“In every contest, there must be a winner,” he said. “Going to court is unnecessary. The election is over; it is time to work for the people.”
