The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has congratulated the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, on his emphatic re-election victory in the November 8, 2025 governorship election, describing the outcome as “a referendum on performance and a celebration of progressive governance.”

In a statement issued on Sunday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, PhD, APGA said Soludo’s sweeping win, where he secured 73% of total votes cast and won in 98% of the state’s 326 electoral wards, is clear proof of the people’s unshakable faith in his visionary leadership and reform-driven administration.

“Ndi Anambra have once again delivered a clear, unequivocal, and overwhelming mandate, affirming their trust in Governor Soludo’s bold reforms, people-oriented policies, and unwavering commitment to building a liveable and prosperous homeland,” the statement read.

APGA described the landslide victory as more than just an election result, but a renewed public endorsement of Governor Soludo’s performance and a reaffirmation of APGA’s identity as the true political heritage of Ndi Igbo and the custodian of Anambra’s development aspirations.

The party also expressed gratitude to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for ensuring a peaceful and fair electoral environment, and commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting what it called a “transparent, credible, and people-reflective election.”

It also lauded the professionalism of the security agencies, whose presence and vigilance, according to the party, guaranteed a peaceful and orderly exercise across the state.

The party , however, expressed grief over the killing of one of its members, Mr. Francis Onyeka Ibe, the Councillor representing Owerre-Ezukala Ward and leader of the Orumba South Council, who was reportedly shot dead by gunmen shortly after casting his vote.

“We mourn the painful loss of Mr. Ibe, a loyal party man and community leader. We pray for the peaceful repose of his soul and call for the immediate arrest and prosecution of his killers,” the party stated.

Furthermore, in the spirit of peace and inclusiveness, APGA however extended an olive branch to all other candidates and political parties that participated in the election to join hands with Governor Soludo in building a stronger and more united Anambra.

“Elections are moments of contest; nation-building is a continuous collective duty. The task ahead requires unity, maturity, and shared purpose,” the party noted.

As Governor Soludo embarks on his second term, APGA reaffirmed its commitment to deepening democracy, expanding economic opportunities, and safeguarding the future of every Anambra son and daughter.

“This victory marks a new chapter. Together, we shall build an Anambra that is liveable, prosperous, globally competitive, and exemplary in governance,” the statement concluded.
