Soludo to Ndi Anambra: “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet” — Governor Delivers Emotional Victory Speech After Landslide Win

Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has delivered an emotional message of gratitude to the people of Anambra State following his emphatic victory in the November 8, 2025 governorship election, pledging to accelerate development and deepen reforms in his second term.

Speaking in the early hours of Sunday, shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him winner, Soludo hailed Ndi Anambra for what he described as a “historic reaffirmation of faith and solidarity.”

“You have spoken loudly,” he began. “Four years ago, you gave us your mandate with 112,000 votes. This time, you made history. You broke the 20 percent voter turnout ceiling and re-elected us with 73 percent of the votes. Out of 326 wards, we lost only seven. You have spoken — emphatically and clearly.”

The governor said the scale of his victory, winning all 21 local government areas and 98 percent of the electoral wards — was a testament to the people’s confidence in his administration’s vision of a liveable and prosperous homeland.

“We applied for this job, and you employed us four years ago. Today, you have renewed our employment. Ndi Anambra, we can only say one thing, you haven’t seen anything yet. From March 2026, we’re shifting into gear four,” Soludo declared to loud cheers from supporters.

Commends INEC, Tinubu, and Security Agencies

Soludo expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for ensuring a peaceful and transparent electoral atmosphere, describing him as “a true democrat who allowed the people’s will to prevail.”

He also lauded INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan, SAN, for what he called the commission’s most credible and transparent election in Anambra’s democratic history.

“INEC delivered. By midnight, 99 percent of the results from polling units had been uploaded to the IReV — that’s unprecedented. It shows how far our electoral process has advanced,” he noted.

The governor also commended the Nigeria Police Force, the Army, DSS, Civil Defence, Navy, and the state’s local security outfit, Agunechemba, for their role in maintaining order and preventing violence.

However, he expressed sadness over the killing of Mr. Francis Onyeka Ibe, a councillor and APGA stalwart in Owerre-Ezukala, who was shot dead by gunmen after casting his vote.

“He was one of our loyal supporters. May his soul rest in peace,” Soludo said solemnly.

In a show of magnanimity, Soludo extended a hand of fellowship to his opponents, emphasizing that the election was a contest of ideas, not enmity.

“Sixteen of us were on the ballot, but only one could win. That’s democracy. Here in Anambra, we fight hard, but we remain brothers. At weddings, funerals, and community gatherings, we share drinks and laughter, that’s the Anambra spirit. Let’s unite and move forward together,” he said.

Soludo reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive governance, adding that the state’s progress requires the contribution of every citizen, regardless of political affiliation.

Reiterating his administration’s commitment to reform and development, Soludo assured Ndi Anambra that his second term will focus on consolidating achievements in infrastructure, education, security, and economic transformation.

“For me, there is no minute lost. I am already back in the office. Governance is a 24/7 job, and Ndi Anambra cannot wait. Together, we will continue to make Anambra win,” he concluded.
