Soludo, Ibezim Receive Certificates of Return, Promise Greater Service to Ndi Anambra

.....As Governor hails Tinubu, INEC for ensuring transparent and credible election

The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, and his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, received their Certificates of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), following their re-election for a second term in office.

The presentation ceremony, held at the INEC headquarters in Awka, was presided over by the Commission’s Supervising National Commissioner and Chairman, Tenders Board Committee, Dr. Ken Ukeagu.

The event was witnessed by the governor’s wife, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, and their children, as well as top government officials, members of the Anambra State House of Assembly, and supporters of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). Notable attendees included the member representing Ihiala Federal Constituency, Hon. Pascal Agbodike; Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Ben Obidike; and Chairman of Awka North Local Government Area, Hon. ThankGod Anagor.

In his remarks, Governor Soludo described the November 8 governorship election as free, fair, and credible, commending all stakeholders, particularly President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his commitment to democratic transparency.

“I want to assure Ndi Anambra that with my Deputy, Dr. Ibezim, and our team, we will make Anambra shine even brighter,” Soludo said.
“I promise to work harder in my second term than I did in my first, so that at the end of eight years, Anambra will look back with pride that the trust reposed in us was not misplaced.”

The governor extended a hand of fellowship to his opponents in the election, calling on them to join forces with his administration in the collective effort to move the state forward.

“Let us come together and build the Anambra of our dreams — a thriving, livable, and prosperous homeland that will be the pride of Nigeria,” he added.

Soludo thanked God for what he described as “the miracle of victory,” and expressed appreciation to President Tinubu, the newly appointed INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Anambra, Dr. Queen Elizabeth Agwu, and all INEC staff for conducting a transparent election.

He also lauded APGA members and the people of Anambra for their continued trust and support.

“My special thanks go to APGA for believing in me, and to the good people of Anambra for standing firm. Together, we will continue to raise the standard of governance in our dear state,” he said.

In his reaction, Chief Ebuka Onunkwo, a former APGA aspirant for the Anambra South Senatorial bye-election, praised the peaceful conduct of the poll, describing it as a model for democratic elections in Nigeria.

He also commended President Tinubu, INEC, and the security agencies for ensuring a credible process, and pledged his support to Governor Soludo’s administration in realizing his vision of a livable and prosperous Anambra.

Tension In Uruagu Nnewi As Community Leaders Dare Soludo,Defy Court Order
