President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the management and staff of the Federal Cooperative College Oji River Enugu State for the massive transformations in the institution under the pragmatic leadership of the Provost and Chief Executive Officer of the college Dr. Jude Ejikeme Obidiegwu.
Tinubu who spoke through the Honourable Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security Sen. Dr. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi during a working visit to the school, said he was impressed with the composition and quality of the academic and non-academic staff coupled with the serenity of the college environment which he described as very conducive for learning and academic activities.
President Tinubu stated that he was also impressed with the infrastructures on ground but equally pointed out that the college needed more amenities and given the availability of resources, the Federal Cooperative College Oji River will get more amenities as his administration carry out reforms in the cooperative sector.
The President observed that based on the amount of allocation given to the college; the resources available and what they have been able to use it for, there is judicious utilisation of resources and there is also programme prioritized utilisation, focusing on what will bring value addition to their mandate and to the community in which they are operating, adding that if the cooperative movement in the host community becomes strong, the prosperity in the area will be massive, emphasizing that the college is indeed making remarkable progress.
He therefore thanked the college management for accepting the challenge to work together as a team so that the changes envisaged in the cooperative sector can be brought on board.
He said he is happy with the crop of staff because the vision and intended changes in the cooperative sector are becoming very obvious even as he stressed the need for cooperative education to be embedded in all the subject disciplines of the college to meet current realities in the cooperative reform agenda of his administration.
Meanwhile the Provost Federal College of Land Resources Owerri Imo State Dr. Eberechukwu Onwujiariri noted that the commendations from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was very apt as he believes that the transformations at the Federal Cooperative College Oji River is something to write home about.
Onwujiariri therefore posited that with the leadership of the incumbent Provost and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Jude Ejikeme Obidiegwu, the college is fast developing and headed for greater heights. Also the Provost of Federal College of Agriculture Isiagu Ebonyi State Dr. Michael Okoronkwo, said that the Federal Cooperative College Oji River is growing rapidly and that the new Provost and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Jude Ejikeme Obidiegwu has a very great vision for the college.
The FCCO Provost and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Jude Ejikeme Obidiegwu thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu through the Honourable Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security Sen. Dr. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi for his commendations and encomiums showered on the management and staff of the Federal Cooperative College Oji River (FCCO), saying that the school looks forward to more cooperation and collaboration with the presidency to take the college to enviable heights.
